Okay I remember a while back I was fighting Cloud with Kefka, and I have around 6400 BRV, ready to kill him, but as I cast Trine he uses Braver and attacks me, but he only had around 1000 BRV, yet I was inflicted with the 6400!!! How the hell did this happen?

Things to know, I was in EX-mode, and he wasn't.

Yes, but I doubt he could deal 6000 BRV with Braver, we were equal level, but when Kefka uses trine, a little triangle does appear in front of him, strange but maybe if that's hit with Braver then the HP damage is reflected? Seeing as to how Braver is practically unbreakable, but he couldn't of hit me for 6000 that's for sure

A level 30 OK just did it to my level 43 Kefka in airship course.

NEVER use Trine close to someone using Wind Shear dammnit >_<

A worse one happened to me with Golbez. Turns out Genesis Rock can be reflected with Ex Mode. That took about half an hour of looking at the replay to work out. But when it happened I was like......

Probably reflected, although you do see some with the accessory that grants Iai Strike.

If he hit 6400 then it was definitely reflected, you can do the same thing to The Emperor's blue flare, if it hits him after it is reflected it uses his brave and not your own.

Moves like Squalls blasting zone can reflect such attacks.

HP Attack reflected. When an HP Projectile Attack lands, the Brave is taken from the owner of the Projectile Attack. This is mostly evidenced by trying to reflect Emperor's Blue Flare. This is also the main reason why the accessory effect 'Eye for an Eye' exists.

Something like that happened to me!
i was using WOTl fightning gabranth and i probably had a couple hundred brv but he had several thousand i used some hp attack
i forgot which one but it did damage equal to our brvs added together!
i didt complain My WOTl was like level 20 and gabranth was maxed out 100
(i exp farm with gabranth)

Interesting... I should have shot a scatter-spray blizzaga in his face then, almost always guarantees a break on someone, so long as your in EX-mode, but that was then, and this is now, I'm much better

Doesnt Trine follow the enemy? It seems like it does to me...
So if he was coming at you with a Braver, the trine coulda followed him, but you were too close to him so it decided to hit you.
Anyways, it sounds like Kefka got pwned in the face

Kefka was not pwned(I don't like when Cloud hits me EVER!!!), it happens with all HP attacks, notably Emperor's Flare, Trine when instantly reflected, instantly does the damage, so it did not need time for trine to follow and hit him.
