So many few girls in Dissidia |
|
There were many female heros in Final Fantasy... so why are there only 2 in Dissida? They could've put Refia in for III instead of the Onion Knight class! Or they could've put Fran or Ashe for XII (Penelo was dead weight). So why are Terra and Shantotto the only girls? (Cosmos doesn't count, I'm talking about people from the previous titles) There weren't many female villains either.... could it be that they didn't want boys to beat up a girl.? Sorry but this kinda bugs me....
The title is supposed to sound screwed up btw. X3 ------------------- ![]() Sig created by me, steal it and DIE

I agree, I love Ultimecia, but there should have been more females in Dissidia, and to top it off, most of the guys have their left ear pierced >_>

...You'd think that having so many male characters in this game IS catering to the fangirls.
Still, the fact is that there are far more male main characters in the Final Fantasy series than there are female. I'd say the main reason Ashe didn't make it in is because they needed an antagonist from FFXII to counteract Shantotto's presence on Cosmos' side, and the only female judge wasn't nearly 'villain' enough. Still, I can see your point. Perplexingly, CoD is meant to be genderless, so... -------------------

Not really anything they could do if most of the main characters and villains in the first ten games happen to be male. <_<
Shantotto and Gabranth seem to have only just barely got in, seeing as their titles only get one rep instead of two, and it's not like they didn't want to put in Lightning. quote ambiesushiThe game is full of men. Wouldn't you say they already are? -------------------

But some girls don't like playing as boys! That's why I like the ones where you can pick the character you walk as because I prefer to be the girls, and because the girls are usually tougher than the boys! (except for Yuna... she was a real wimp in X...)

They chose the central protagonist and antagonist of each game represented aside from XI and XII. That's all there is to it.
If a sequel were to be made then you can probably expect a few more women as playable characters but the fact remains that final fantasy games in general have more males in leading roles. -------------------

First off, what would they have done instead? They couldn't put in Refia because then people would start rioting for Luneth instead. They couldn't put in Ashe because that would require a FFXII villain, and they didn't want to put one in. If they did put in another female character, there would be much rioting. None of them are important enough to replace the male representative from that game.

quote GlancingReverseBut why use a job class for III? Terra wasn't the lead for VI, but they used her anyway! What would've been the harm of putting in Refia? The Onion Knight wasn't even a character in III! And Ashe was a central character for XII, but she was a very important character. ------------------- ![]() Sig created by me, steal it and DIE

Exactly! Although I love Fran, Ashe was a MAIN Character in the party, and could have made it to the game, but instead they chose Gabranth, which is strange...I think Vayne was the main villain, seeing as to how you fought him in the end, but hey IF they make a sequel I'd love to see more women in it, especially Lulu <3 (Look at the 'Who would you add?' Thread! I made a whole Setup for her!)
But about Onion Knight, Luneth wasn't in the original was he? I thought that was the DS Version...

Yeah. They're going off of the original games for them anyways. None of the four from FFIIIDS were in the original version, they were just four regular characters. And they chose Onion Knight because that is the class the game is known best for.

quote ambiesushiTerra was the main character for FFVI. quote ambiesushi quote ambiesushiOnion Knight is old school cool; he has nostalgia value, being the default class from III. Refia didn't even exist until the remake. quote ambiesushiAgain, since XI and XII didn't get as much representation, if they'd made Ashe a hero representing XII, they would've had to take a villain from XI, dropping Shantotto. Shantotto probably won out over Ashe just for the WTF factor. -------------------

ambiesushi: Please, use a different font. Yours is a real eye sore.
In FFIII, four children called the Onion Kids/Knights were the main characters, not Luneth, Refia, Ark, and Ingus. However, I would have liked Luneth to be FFIII's representative. In FFVI and FFXII, there was hardly such thing as a main character. Each character played a pivotal role in each game that could put anyone in the hot seat. Feel lucky it was Terra, anyway. Locke was considered for the part. XI and XII could have had Shadow Lord and Basch fill in as a villain an hero respectively, but those two games acted as the games bonuses. Lightning from XIII wasn't added because Nomura did not want any of her abilities, personality, or other key features locked in, and he felt adding her would do so. ------------------- ![]() - Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days - Final Fantasy Dissidia - MegaMan Star Force 3: Black Ace/Red Joker -
