Welcome to 20 Questions Dissidia Rules taken from my Dynasty Warriors 20Q Game and modified for this forum It's really simple! This is 20 Questions with a Final Fantasy theme. One person picks an object and everyone else tries to guess the object asking 'Yes' or 'No' Questions. What makres this game special is Ability Points. You earn AP for stumping and guessing objects. You can then use this AP to level up and earn skills that help you stump other players more easily or help you guess objects more easily. Here's how you earn AP: Guessers 100AP for asking a 'Yes' Question 150AP for every question left on a list when you guess the object (So if you guess the object on Q18 - you'd get 450AP) If you guess the object you also get control of the next round. Stumper 3000AP for stumping everyone Once you get your AP you can PM me or post in this thread and I'll update your information on the Scoreboard. Here are some general rules: Anyone can join in whenever they want. Just ask a question and you're in. I'll put your name on the Scoreboard as soon as you have at least 50AP. ------------------- Picking an Object In the Dynasty Warriors forum, some people started to pick some pretty ridiculous objects. I really don't want to limit what you guys are able to pick, but there have to be SOME boundaries. 1. OBJECT MUST PERTAIN DIRECTLY TO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SOURCES: ALLOWED SOURCE Final Fantasy I - Final Fantasy X Dissidia: Final Fantasy Final Fantasy XI Fianl Fantasy XII Final Fantasy XIII Final Fantasy Tactics Series Crystal Chronicles Series Kingdom Hearts Series Final Fantasy VII/IV/X Spin-offs
The grey area here, is of course, costume peices. Things like "Firion's Rose" are pretty important in the GAMES and should be considered fair game. Something like "Cloud's Hair" will result in point loss and is NOT acceptable. Things that are acceptable are items like "Cloud's Sword", "Cid's Airship", etc.. because these have specific names and are interchangable with "Buster Sword" and "Highwind" respectively. If you pick one, either guess is correct. 3. USE COMMON SENSE
Answering Questions 1. CONSULT THE DICTIONARY
2. DON'T STRETCH MEANING
Same goes for anything else. Use the definition of the term as it applies to Final Fantasy. I'll try to add things to the dictionary as we move along, but again, use common sense. 3. EXPLAINING ANSWERS
If you don't know the answer to a question, make this your reply: Is it specific to a stage? YES/NO, but I'm not sure, I think its YES/NO and then add an extra question to the list. 4. DO NOT CHANGE ANSWER
5. UNDERSTAND QUESTIONS
Any confusion will be blamed on the person answering the questions. If things get confusing, clear it up, or you lose points. 6. PUT PERSON'S NAME NEXT TO YES or NO QUESTIONS
7. DO NOT ASSUME A PARTICULAR GAME

I will be CLOSELY monitoring questions asked and the way that they are answered. I'll overrule answers if they're misleading or ask guessers to be more specific if their question doesn't really apply to the objects. The AP multiplier skill works differently. This skill is based only on the person with the skill. As long as they keep getting 'yes's the multiplier is active. Other people can ask questions in-between and their answers will not affect the Warrior's multiplier in any way. 1. Is it in FFIV? Yes {Warrior} 2. Is it in FFV? Yes {Mage} In this case nothing would happen. 1. Is it in FFIV? Yes {Mage} 2. Is it in FFV? Yes {Warrior} In this case, the Warrior's addition skill would be activated and questions would be added to the list. 1. Is it in FFIV? Yes {Mage} 2. Is it in FFV? Yes {Warrior} 3. Is it a weapon? Yes {Warrior} The warrior's addition skill would be activated twice, once for 1-2 in a row and again from 2-3 in a row. 1. Is it in FFIV? Yes {Mage} 2. Is it in FFV? Yes {Warrior} 3. Is it a shield? No {Mage} 4. Is it a sword? Yes {Warrior} Addition skill would be activated once for 1-2 in a row. And then multiplier would be activated for 2,4 both being yes's. Hoepe all this makes sense. Warrior Path - warriors excel in asking questions. Warriors gain AP quickly by guessing the object and can even add to the number of question the guessers get to ask.
Warrior – Basic Job 1. Fight (Base) – Gain an extra 500AP if you guess the object 2. MASTER Warrior (3000AP) – Learn “Fight” Knight – MASTER Warrior 1. Defend (Base) – Able to block the first 2 added questions 4. Esuna (3000AP) - Still earn 1/4AP even if you don't stump guessers 5. Sword Spirit (6000AP) – Chose a player at the beginning of the round and earn ALL the AP they do 6. Excalibur (7500AP) – Points for every 'yes' in a row get doubled (200AP, 400AP, 800AP etc) 7. Paladin Shield (10000AP) – Always block one question from added questions {Can be stacked with other Blocking skills} 8. MASTER Paladin (12500AP) – Learn “Cover” Genome – MASTER Time Mage and Ninja 1. Swallow Blade (Base) – When you ask your first question, add 1 questions to the list 2. Thundaga (Base) – Guessers only get 16 questions 3. Hasteaga (Base) – Get 2.0x more AP if you stump guessers (6000AP instead of 3000AP) 4. Scoop Art (3000AP) – Gain 1/10 the AP the stumper earns 5. Grand Lethal (6000AP) – When you ask your first question, add 2 questions to the list 6. Trance (7500AP) – Get 2.5x more AP if you stump guessers (7500AP instead of 3000AP) 7. Alexander (10000AP) – Guessers only get 15 questions 8. MASTER Genome (15000AP) – Learn “Alexander” Gunbladesman – MASTER Hunter and Dragoon 1. Trigger (Base) – Gain an extra 1000AP if you guess the object 2. Junction: Poison (Base) - Earn 50AP for asking a 'No' question 3. Shatterheart (Base) - Earn 150AP instead of 100AP for asking a 'Yes' question 4. Eden (3000AP) - Do not have to answer one question. Question may not be asked again in a different manner. 5. Renzokuken (6000AP) - Gain an extra 1500AP if you guess the object 6. Lionheart (7500AP) - Earn 200AP instead of 100AP for asking a 'Yes' question 7. Juntion: Pain (10000AP) - Earn 100AP for asking a 'No' question 8. MASTER Gunbladesman (15000AP) – Learn “Trigger” Onion Knight – MASTER Time Mage, Ninja, and Dragoon or Hunter 1. Onion Sword (Base) – Equip 2 extra skill: 3 Total (stacks){When this skill is equipped on another class it uses the primary skill slot and opens up two new skill slots, simply allowing other classes to have two skills instead of one} 2. 1. Updated the dictionary, so take a look at that. (please pay particular attention to "Action" and "Physical" 2. I want some feedback on the game so we can make it more enjoyable. I think the descriptions of skills that add more questions to the list when one correctly guesses an object should be re-written to simply state that. They already have "Essentailly an extra X AP" there to explain, so the first part is unnecessary and possibly confusing to someone who doesn't see the differences between this and the skills that actively increase the number of questions. quote BrokenKnightsYou name a category of object and everyone lists as many objects that fall into that category as possible. Players receive bonus AP for each object they mention that someone else hasn't said before them. The amount of AP earned per object would depend on how broad the category is (more broad = less AP per object). Optionally, limit each Player to one post per bonus round so they have to deposit their list all at once - "Do I spend more time thinking/searching for more objects and risk someone else posting before me?" This would also serve to potentially uncover some "Wait, is X object really in Y category?" scenarios to help better define terms. EDIT: Suggestions for new classes. My thought process is this: while you can touch buildings and streets, you can't touch Nibelheim. And it's my own opinion that living things don't count as objects since they fit into their own category. I think using the term to include locations and characters makes it hard to differentiate among all these completely different things. quote ViperSeanI think this is a good idea (and a fun one). I actually really like the Archer stuff VS. I'll play around with it and see what I get. EDIT -- What you have is actually pretty good. The only thing is that if it's a base job, then that's a whole lot of work for me. I'll combine all the ideas you had and make it a mixed job. Tomorrow though, now its time for bed.
As for physical, we'll stick with the one I wrote. If you do anything else you get into a lot of grey area - so, yes, locations are physical. They're not intangible. As far as lying goes -- we'll see if its too overpowered or not. As for the little game, the only problem is that whoever posts first gets the most AP. I think for now, I'll pick what I think is a difficult object and give etxra AP. Ok 3 notes:
1. After my question round, I've got a great idea. It was in the Dyntasty Warriors game and I think it can be adapted for this game. I'll reveal details later. It's basically "Dueling" 2. After the first duel BBG, it'll be your turn again. Don't worry, I didn't forget. 3. I added new archer jobs (thanks to VS) in the Warrior's path along with new mixed jobs.
