I uh, I just recommend you guys to not put too many requisites since that may put down the community.
All requests do eventually rise up, some may just take a bit longer.

Second!
I'm looking to have the writing competition thread done close to the end of the night, but something that could be helpful is some basic things to put into the guidelines(not the rules) part of the challenge so that it will be simple and easy to understand when first glancing at the thread.
but i think its gonna take me awhile to think up a urban legend
The criteria for the writing competition may be somewhat different in regards to speak of urban legend, but it won't be of any dramatic difference I do promise.
I'm all in for suggestions on what should be included in the thread to make the contest understandable and simple for everyone.
I will admit I've been shocked and surprised before but never have I been astounded in the best of times for the longest of times by the lofty amount of precious information! Mewtwo45, expect to see these up in credit in the thread, shortly.
But.. (there is always a but, I know because we all have them)
quote Endless Ages
Mewtwo45: Alright, those rules work out. However, I don't know about the idea of incorporating pictures in this contest. It's a writing competition, so we would only expect people to write about something, not post pictures about it.
The above-what Endless Ages has said-makes sense in other ideas you have stated. These ideas will not be terminated, don't worry, they will show up in other aspects of creativity, fun, and challenge. I believe if we were to allow pictures to be incorporated this would lower the amount of the population preforming in the event. I think we can all agree that a small get together just isn't going to compare with having one hell of a time at a, anticipated, great, exciting, thrilling party; the writing contest would than be at a good/even level for all forum members who I'm hoping will join in on the fun!
I'm not trying to be a hard-ass with this, but since I'm majoring in this kind of thing, I have to put in my two cents once in a while
Your surely not, man.
I see what you mean now. The contest should be fair and thus be a writing contest-writing/your own drawings will not be allowed the paranormal was only accepting artwork around a month ago. Pictures that can be found through google, this gives everyone online a fair advantage in accessing art. The art should be a photograph that sets the appearance of the setting to further help the descriptive writing you must use within the submission.
Yes, I've been working on it for quite sometime to be honest.

The darn thing doesn't want to load, or it loads but wants a password. Now I'm trying to find another route with creating a url link for the forum theme code to paste into the selector so that everyone may finally view the new forum theme! The name has been given, Dennise Scarlet which is named after DenniseA the paranormal forum's first place creature contest winner.
I'm going to continue work on it, please leave me feedback on the matter, especially if it becomes available for all to see.
But, for the time being it is normal to what I'm trying to get it at.
The theme should be up A-SAP once I read through this article that I hope will fix the problem and then you all may finally see the new forum theme in sweet dedication for DenniseA!
To all members of the forum, follow these steps to see the newest installment in the paranormal forum:
Go to Main forum page
Find the Theme Seletor
Click on it and read the drop down
Select Dennise Scarlet
Wait a few seconds..
Wahlaa!
The new forum theme in dedication to DenniseA and her brilliant first place work in the create your own paranormal creature contest is yours to enjoy, guys!
Positive and negative feedback is imminent!
Whatever is to be requested/suggested and changed with this theme should be posted here so I can do a review and edit of the theme to make it even better for all those of the forum.
I love the effect of the red places but the thread names are kinda difficult to see.
I'm going to try adjusting the saturation and shading of the orange font, possibly the light-grey(unsure for now), once this is done I will update the theme for all to see.
For now I am having a dear friend holding this theme on a website because I was unfortunate and had not found a reliable site that didn't end in a scam. Once I find one I can begin posting and updating the themes faster.
I hope that, for tonight at the least, the theme won't be too much to handle. I have no time left to adjust it for tonight, tomorrow is always another day though.
While there is this break in time periods please make sure to post whatever suggestions of improvement that you can that will make the theme look even better!
Or just post any general feedback on it so I can see how I am doing as a beginner in theme creation.
Was able to check out the new theme, looks really good, i like it Div! great work!
Why thanks mate, it's good to see.

What I truly would like to know, from everyone else who wants to speak up(or should I say post up?), anyways is there anything you want to comment good or bad please take this moment to show us your mind!
Maybe we all should post our ideas to help the thread along
Yes, I completely agree that we should collaborate our ideas here in this thread so ultimately the idea will be ours, of the community.
Here are mine to add-
quote
[u]Aspects for becoming member of the month:[u] Maintains a good attitude towards others/overall nice and a member worth standing under the spotlight Welcomes newcomers into the forum when they have introduced themselves or appeared posting in threads for the first time Directs those who are troubled to the right source/thread/ as well as answers to the best of their abilities questions from others Compliments others for what strong-suits they possess Encourages others to join in on discussion/contests Outgoing and friendly Uses wittiness and a healthy approach when discussing a topic of debate(argues in a professional/ and adult manner without causing hurt feelings or criticism) More active than others Is dedicated to improving the forum and keeping activity
palopel, yeah I understand what you are getting at.
I'm planning to revamp the new theme along with adding something to the selector, an even "newer" theme which was promised a spot as well a while back, do keep an eye out for it guys!
Suggestion: maybe make a sticky that has a list of different paranormal TV shows so people can look into new ones they've never heard of? Idk. A nice catalog would be nice.
I'm happy to see that TripleDX was able to help you with this.
Good job dude! =D
As there already is a thread in dedication to Paranormal TV Shows, would anyone recommend having the link to that thread posted in a thread header/ the index/ or even the front main page/?
In the paranormal forum, often enough we focus on determining the truth, this would be a chance to sort of break that mold, and just explore the principles without being called fakes
With that description it gets my support.
What do others think about this?
Would you like to see a subforum for paranormal roleplay and the like?
It truly isn't a bad idea.
The only thing I fear is there won't be enough individual topics to create this forum.
Of course they aren't bad! 'Twas just wondering why they were there.
They are now, will be for awhile so take use of them! =D
Also, I was actually testing out how to add sub-forums and finally figured it out today so that was another reason why they were added on any day of all days.
I know of such a thing, there could be threads created for individual members which they get to post and update a paranormal story that they create up themselves.
If such a paranormal phenomena as Slender Man can be created by someone just for a contest, I wonder what others can be made!
It's up to you, of course, and this is just my opinion.
It's not entirely related to the Paranormal, I do understand this.
I actually just added the Animated Shows forum as a sub-forum in an attempt to help other members have access to it, since in my opinion that forum is well hidden amongst Neo.
Another reason it was added is because I just figured out how to add sub-forums the other day and thought to utilize what I now know, it isn't a permanent change so don't be scared guys!
What other changes should be made?
Suggestions, suggestions please! =D
PROS
Great Entertainment for the readers and Paranormal.
Serves as a new playing ground for fans of the supernatural!
Spawning threads are less likely to be swallowed amongst others with more chance of becoming noticed
I believe if we all stick together and begin becoming more active, others will take notice and we can get this place becoming something more, something amazing. Something such as Paranormal Fanfiction Forum or even the Supernatural Society- a clan and such with different clans, vampire ones, afterlife ones, all of these awesome clans. Another idea, there could be a lot to come for the future of the paranormal and I believe all of us, as a community will be able to succeed and strive throughout Neo, we can become number one guys, you know it is possible.
CONS
Is it going to be enough activity?
Will this seperate the Fourm too much?
May spread the community too thin.
Would it be wrong to create a fanfiction/clan type society forum that ACWW/ Mario/ and Pokemon have? Or are we not allowed to have the same benefits?
When, and who, are we going to show this to again? :L
Umm, idk.
I think for the time being we are using it to help compile a list of why the forum should be created along with a second list which can have all ideas for the forum compiled together.
I think that at least, the idea can always been brought back to later on in a future with much more activity. A future in which this idea can become a possiblity. For now, we can work towards creating a new forum theme, one that has a neon/ectoplasm theme.
Any and all of you are open to create threads that you think will do a good job in the forum, the mods are only here to keep things updated/header page, etc.
Keep this in mind guys, I may be on a bit of a break for a while, finals and school ending.
Before I go, just wanted to say that you may start that thread whenever and if you need help with what to put into it get a hold of me through facebook or instant message, but I gotta go.
which reminds me to get to work on the Urban Legends!
as we state reminders could some post any that would help me in getting things back to where they were here before, such as reminding me of rewards or things to get to work on that were promised before my leaving.
So anyways, just thought I'd bring that to everyone's attention, and thought this was probably the best place to do it. I'm also staff on the Newspaper, so if anyone has any questions you can ask me or check out the thread in the Community Events forum. I think there are still a few staff positions left as well, if anyone's interested.
As to concerns with the Neo Newspaper, I believe the Paranormal Forum's Superhero Contest as well as the Paranormal Roleplay(once it gets back up and running) should be added as well as just major paranormal story threads(actual paranormal discussions) should be listed in the Newspaper, it could help us to come back onto the NeoSeeker maps!
Then, the paranormal can become more outgoing and a discussion based forum.
I see you guys have a 13 page roleplay going so i wont be butting in on that, but could i make another one here?(paranomally based, of course, probably about ghost hunters or something)
Why not make a "Ghost Hunter" character for the roleplay that the forum already has and then allow your creation to roam the town of Parapolis and the graveyard that consumes it.
There are many ghosts in Parapolis that need to be "busted"!
I would love to see you join the roleplay, with a new member and a new character I may come back and start to participate in the story again.
So, I was thinking that this forum was slowing down a bit, and was trying to think of ways to... regain the forum. So does anyone have any ideas?
I couldn't agree with you more.
I have a few ideas that I believe may help in getting the forum back on its feet.
Here are a few suggestions from me I believe a banner set for the NeoParanormal Forum should be created and then those who want to place the banner in their forum signatures can help advertise and get the forum to become "noticed" by others who have no clue of it's presence. Neo sort of has this forum hidden, which makes me sad. D=
I also want to suggest that we come together and participate more in "on-topic" discussion threads as well as creating new threads and more ideas to help things out in this community.
I know we can do it and so do you!
It's all about how things are approached, however. With the roleplay coming back that could help to spark some activity as well.
Well, I thought making this forum have a fresh new look and have a banner contest, including a theme change for the winner, and they can choose the colours to go with the banner! ^^
I was also thinking of just inviting people to the forum~ c;
I still need to create a theme for the forum, which has been held back, they are always tedious to make. D=
But, yes inviting new people to the forum would be a GREAT thing to do which was why I suggested the idea of "Paranormal" banners which would have links to the forum and if other members noticed them they would be more likely to click the link and find the forum and such, it could help.
Well for the time being, before having another contest since there is one going on atm(two counting the awards) maybe we should place up the 2nd prize winning header/ mine?
I do remember that was to happen at some point yet it never did.
A green theme to go with the header and footer may look nice too.
I really like them, I think they'll go nicely with the forum. And I'll try some nice greens to go with it~ c;
Alrighty.
Well for now, I'll make sure to get to work on a theme to fit the forum header and footer and then you can share what codes you want to improve the theme that will come and then it can be set up like, say, this weekend or later this week for sure, right guys?
Are you excited!
New forum look is coming! Be prepared because your in for a scare lol!
No I was only trying to get everyone pumped up for some new forum changes.
I do look forward to working on the theme which I will begin a little tomorrow, for now I am off to bed it is midnight and I have school tomorow, I'm terribly tired too!
You all have a great night and continue with your discussions here in the paranormal universe of Neo!
Here's what I'm thinking: we have something like a Paranormal Newspaper that would be published every month or so, which talks about things pertaining to the Paranormal, e.g. UFO sightings, creature sightings, etc. Members would be asked to write an article about a creature or an event and would be available for everyone to see. Of course, there would be other sections such as a column dedicated to Paranormal Fiction. Fiction would entail stories, comics, drawings, etc.
Do not take what I will discuss as an attack against your idea, though. The forum has a lot of valuable information to potentially create a Paranormal Newspaper. What I'm afraid may happen, based upon past events in this forum, is that the idea will be started, members will sign up to help out, but then once it is time for production nothing will get done because of such delays in commitment and so on. A lot of the time, with projects like these, members sign up because they think it is something that they can help with at the time and later on they realize they don't actually have the time or even the effort to follow through with what they signed up for.
I'm clearly just saying that I believe the newspaper would potentially fall as well as succeed, it could go either way. Things here, in this paranormal space of Neo, happen oddly and in strange ways so we may never know.
This is your idea and your baby, it is up to you if you believe in it to create a thread to start it all off in and from there we shall all see who is willing and wishing to help in this project!
I'm not entirely sure if it's going to warrant a thread yet, as there's many possibilities that can be factored into this. Though, I'm sure that you can discuss this with TripleDX and see what you two can do about this idea.
Yeah, I do agree with you on the advertising.
Maybe I could create a banner set to advertise the forum as well as the Paranormal Newspaper idea and we can see what happens from there?
For now i guess all ideas about this newspaper should be discussed in this thread. =D
I feel a little hesitate coming up with a Paranormal Newspaper so soon after the site-wide Newspaper has been established. We don't want it to look like we are overshadowing that one or trying to mimic it. I do think it could be a great source for everything paranormal though, if you can find the dedication.
This actually struck my mind, too so you are not alone on your thought.
I do think that a paranormal newspaper(this early in the game) could make the forum look like it is copying ideas from other forums which is not something we do. The paranormal is for originality!!!
=D
And mostly creativity.
I do like your "impulsive thought" however, Crystal it is appreciated to see your own opinion on this.
That might even draw in more participants into the forum which equals more fun and activity around here.
Yes this is true.
Once drawn into the forum, how are we to know that these participants will actually partake in discussions that are ON-TOPIC and that are going to help the forum's activity?
We won't know..
As so many projects created I find that often many of these actually do not help because there is no change in discussion nor activity increase.
Mainly it's coming to the point where I believe there are members visiting the forum and watching it but that is all. They do not post they do not comment they do not even try..
So why do I?
Because I have the strength to do so as well as does TripleDX and many others of you, you know who you are apart from those who aren't.
I'm sure that the Paranormal and Halloween do get along.
Why the two do great together!
I'm all for your suggestions as well Quetzy thank you for being honest to about your inactivity because I myself will be honest and say that I have not been as active(or even close) as I should be which I do apologize guys.
Ok so above I have encased a problem in a red rectangular box that I have continued to see with the forum main page. Does anyone know why these "tags" are being displayed and how to get rid of them, for good?
The different sizes annoys me the most. That makes it look reall untidy
That is what I'm mainly getting at.
I wouldn't have so much of a problem with them if they were to all be one consistant size, but they aren't and just as you have said it really does look "untidy" and messy.
Mind if I make a thread, just reminding them of the forum as it's a bit inactive. x3
Sure go right ahead. I'm in the process of trying to do a few things for the forum as well so I am busy, but I would be really happy to see this thread made by you!
Possibly even placing links within the names of the members who were previously chosen for each month, just to add to your previous post.
This could allow others who missed out on the contests from before or are new to them and want an example of how everything works to see just exactly that within those links.
I need to know what the NeoCoding would be for anchors so that I can use tags like (back to the top) and such within the new and improved index. I have the tags for anchors that move down the page, just not back up the page.
What do you guys think about making the Paranormal Birthday thread a sticky/pinned thread?
I think if we were to add the paranormal birthday thread to the ones we already have, this would distract from other topics and it could make the forum look cluttered with the fact that it already has 7 threads stickied.
But, if we were to take the Member of the Month Nomination thread from the list of stickies I could add the paranormal birthday thread in it's place.
Another alternative would be to just give the birthday thread a big link in the main header of the forum, do you think that would work?
Which?
And awh, thank you so much for the compliments I'm trying my best right now.
if we ever need room to sticky threads, we can un-sticky the Urban Legends Thread, who knows when that was last read
I'm not sure about the last it was read, but what I'm sure of is that it will not ever be lost because it can always be found in the paranormal forum's new index!
Still working on the anchors, and then after it should be complete.
If you guys want, however, do suggest any threads that you might have found or that caught your eye that you believe deserve to be in the new index so that other members can find the topic easier or for your own sake. Like looking for a particular book in a large library.
Thank you so much Whelan, now I can finish up the index, with these tags it should be a lot easier to browse through, hope everyone enjoys this new part of the forum!
Why yes, I definitely spent a bunch of time on it.
The time was well spent though! =D
And with Whelan's help I can now add in the final touches to help make the index easiest to navigate.
Also, if anyone notices threads that have not been included in the index and should be included please post in this thread with a link to the thread you want added and just notify me and whenever I get back on I will definitely, more happily, add it to the index!
Loving all the feedback on the index as well, thanks guys!
I'm glad to see such good feedback on the index, to be honest.
I would love to see any suggestions on threads I should add to the index that are not already there, give it a good look and if you find a thread that NEEDS to be added please post with the link to that thread and possibly where it would go in the index and I will gladly add it for you!
i think we should use the points for something, maybe sabatouge other players like, no one can guess for 24 hours or something to make it more interesting
Yeah or something like that, it's a work in progress I like it though.
I need to know what it is you would like to see changed about the forum, please list your suggestions as to how we may be able to make this community into a more active place.
