Ahem, here goes-
1. If you can get a whammy power-up as your first power-up, consider yourself lucky. Use it after your solo and he'll drop dead in no more than one second. 2. If you don't get it, that's fine- just aim for hitting your power-ups, even if you have to miss a few notes before it. 3. Until Johnny's solo (the part where the lyrics start up again after the insane solos), use your power-ups to stop him from getting any power-ups. Once Johnny's solo kicks in, use your power-ups as soon as his solo starts (they start as soon as your solo ends). He should be easy if you do that. 4. Don't give up. I know how irritating he is, but just keep practicing and with the tips I have gave above (and a bit of luck on your first run), you should beat him easily. 5. DO NOT CHOKE. I know you'll get nervous when you're about to beat him and when you do beat him, but do not worry. Do not choke on the final solo or at all and you'll do fine.

I'm pretty good unless he gets a left flip right off the bat. I screw up bad when that happens. But if I can get a power up then I can get pretty far. Still haven't beaten it yet. It's a bitch to be sure.

I really don't know when it is, but I think I know what he means. Look for the part that goes extremely fast.

Yeah, I saw that part and I knew that'd be a good place. Problem is, I'm too worked up on making sure I hit my notes, so I can't look over to see his notes.
I'm sure you'd have to get the timing pretty well, though. His whammies take about 2 seconds for him to fix. ------------------- ![]()

I got well into the second solo today. My fingers hurt pretty bad right now so I'm not really ready to try again. I think the key for me so far is to keep playing until he gets either broken string or whammy on his first power up. Lefty Flip and Amp Overload take too much time to resolve and it causes you to miss your power up. If you can get it you can prevent further shenanigans through his solo.
It's hard to do everything though. It's much better to have a friend tell you when to launch your attacks and what ones he's got for you. Glad I have a roommate now. ------------------- ![]()

BLAHBLAHJR was on to something there. Good job.
My best advice is to save up a couple of attacks and use them all together, staggered at one second. -------------------

quote The5thAvacadoYes, once your solo ends you use it immediately and he dies in no more than one second. You can use it like, half a second after, but just use it then and bam, bye-bye Lou.

Try the cheap method if you have plenty of patience, your time will come when you get that power-up and just use it when I said to use it and he is done. If he gets a whammy power-up, just begin whammy as soon as he gets the whammy power-up, or at least have your hand ready for when he uses it, it takes him about 2-3 seconds to activate a power-up.

Just want to say thanks for the whammy bar power up tip. I played for about 2 hours and was getting really frustrated, and then like 3 or 4 tries later after I read this post I got that power up, waited til the end of the solo, and instantly used it and watched Lou go down. So it definitely works, and thanks again for that tip.

Oh, well Blahblah's basically a genius. Got the whammy on the second try and thus beat him on my second try today (finishing him was easy as hell).

How do the power ups work. Are they random or are they based on your performance up to that point. I usually do pretty well up to that point. Hit almost everything and am maxed out in the green. But I've yet to get a whammy for my first power up. Gotten lefty flip, and broken string...a lot!
