Placement of Opinion, Placement of Fact |
|
I was reading this article, and I thought it was pretty unprofessional that the poster included his/her own opinion the the news article (nothing against the poster). I think it's a good stance that Gamegrep stays away from bias and reports just fact, while opinion is left for the comments.

I agree that news postings should focus more on facts and information. Some amount of personal bias is bound to get in there though. I think the best types of descriptions are those that include a concise summary of the source information, plus additional information that the submitter might know about the situation (perhaps drawn from his/her knowledge of the game, or else based on other articles that they've been exposed to previously), with maybe a LITTLE bit of subjective text eg "This is very exciting news for fans and something to look forward to" is arguably a subject statement, but one which is less "biased".

If you want to express a personal opinion/bias it can always be done in the comments after you post the news post.
