[Suggestion] Delete Option in Gamegrep |
|
I was wondering if a delete button could be added in Gamegrep. I feel it's necessary to have a delete button in order to avoid double posts and such. Unless it's in the works, I see no reason why there shouldn't be a delete button available for members.
Although, I think this might also have to do with the adjustment of each member's GG points. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

A Delete button for Oppinions/comments or articles?
And only for their own, right? ------------------- ![]()

A delete button for comments and possibly articles too. And yeah, each member should only be allowed to delete their own posts/articles.

quote Subzer0I do have some doubts about deleting your own comments. Sometimes, other people reply to your comment, and it will be placed seperatly, like a bit more aligned to the right. If someone deletes his comment, while someone else replied on your comment, then I don't see how that would work out. Unless you can't delete your comment anymore after someone else posted on yours. Although, I think Comments are generally different then posts from Forum Discussions. Somehow there's a difference in these 2. Deleting a possible article of yourself I think could work, to delete yer articles if you noticed there's already another article submitted before, or you were just minutes late from submitting your article, because a minute or 2,3 prior someone else has submitted something similar like yours, or maybe for possibly some other reason, probably, but only if it's still in the pending box that is. But ONLY when it's there. But when it's approved or it's in the Require Edit, or anywhere else outside the pending box, then that option should not be available at all anymore. Edit: Actually, when it's send to Requires Edit, and the guy submits it back to pendings, it should also not be available to delete anymore, after an approver, GameGrepmod or admin has touched it. If it's that much of a nuisance then you should be able to at least delete your own posts if they don't contain any replies afterwards. Either that or it could be more like Youtube where it says something like 'the author has removed this message' instead of outright deleting it. I can see the second option working tbh.
And I'm not too familiar with posting articles, but what you said seems to make sense. There should be a time limit where you could delete it. If it's already approved then all you can do is edit the article instead of deleting it.

quote Subzer0I like those two ideas. I see them working very well. The latter will also be helpful to slightly reduce the gg staff's work load. -------------------

This has been suggested so many times, I feel as if either it's a no go, they're ignoring us, or they have too much on their plate for Gamegrep to implement this. I'm still waiting for the suppose new thumb system that Tek was going to look into.
