[Feedback] Gamegrep Comments |
|
Ok, now I know there was a time I didn't make quality type comments, and stating my views of an article wasn't always pretty. But lately i'm just noticing how gamegrep(iirc being a sister site to Neo) is getting comments which not only does nothing to contribute to the article at hand, but initiates flame wars. Now one in particular is home article about the differences to SL and Home.
Now Krunal, Tek and Redemption if you're reading this, isn't Gamegrep supposed to hold a image of quality and something that contributes to the site like Neoseeker? Cause comments like this, and sorry to single out Red here but I feel, me being a long time gamegrep member who wants to see the site flourish, is really getting out of hand with these comments and members thumbing them up to join the bandwaggon. quote quote quote quoteNow yes people don't like me and I will get these sort of replies, but I just feel lately some posts to the article(some of them) just really doesn't do justice to the image of the site. Listen, I'm a member, I want to see the site grow same and gamegrep. I comment to contribute to the article to shed my thoughts and even submit articles. But honestly I ask you, are these sort of comments, namely the first, really contribute to the site? I always remember the saying some people use "Just because it may be an opinion, doesn't mean you should say it". Which I'm assuming some opinions are better left unsaid. Anyone else see something similar or am I just trying to hard to help gamegrep? I mean I again had to report a post which was technically flaming and against the rules. I'm not trying to abuse anything I'm just curious where the line has to be drawn for comments here. I mean from what I've heard from Enhance the rules on gamegrep is slightly different to neo and in some cases stricter, but I don't believe red's first comment was needed. He mentions nothing about Home or the article just saying it sucks. The bold is some of the highlights I also wanted some thoughts on. I mean if this is how gamegrep is and doesn't want me there, by all means I'll leave and never contribute to it again. I was under the impression one of the all time contributors of the site should give feedback on the site and comments which are added. I mean it's one thing to be on a site for kicks and state your opinion, it's another to do so with adds nothing to the topic/article at hand on a site with is a business like Neo. ------------------- Welcome to Crisis Core forum Welcome to Bad Company 2 God of War 3 official forum community

re: [Feedback] Gamegrep Comments |

Comments on GG should follow the exact rules as those on the forums. What Red originally posted is not against the rules, he was stating his opinion. I don't feel we should be stifling peoples opinions even if they are negative unless they step on over into the "breaking forum (GG) rules" territory. If Red had said something like "SL and Home are indeed the same. How? They both have pasty faced nerds pretending it's their real life, losers" that would be call for a comment moderation.
I think this situation could have been handled in a less public fashion. If there was a need for a thread it should have been more generalized rather than pointing fingers and posting links to 'examples'. This feels more like a public tribunal than feedback on the comments made all throughout GameGrep. The examples and link sharing should be done via PM to a GG mod. I would also strongly suggest the use of the report feature for any inappropriate comments. As for Capn Droid, I don't know how tall his horse really is but he does not speak for the entire community and as such comments like that should not be taken into the slightest bit of consideration. -------------------
