[Feedback] Flooding of Articles

I've noticed with the recent influx of a ridiculous amount of E3 2008 articles, many of the good ones are being buried as new articles are coming out.

I know we have the "Recently Commented" section, as well as the "Top News Stories", but I just feel like many good articles are still not getting the press they deserve.

I'm not sure exactly what could be done about this without totally rewriting the algorithm to the rating/commenting process. The only thing I could think of is adding a section for "Recently Rated" or increase the number of articles in the "Top News" section.

I don't want to see GG turn into Digg, but I think some minor things should be done to help improve it. Does anyone agree?

re: [Feedback] Flooding of Articles

I think the flow is being handled well enough, the general console areas allow for a large amount of articles to be displayed. Implementing more spaces may lead to very low articles being put there on slow days, or even less articles than it can hold, making it look very empty.

So basically in short I think its fine

I'm not sure what you can add that would avoid adding more clutter, which is what GameGrep has enough of already, IMO.

Maybe add a dropdown that depending on what you pick will show News, Screenshots, Videos ony, etc.?

Well users can already just see news, screenshots, etc by clicking a given category on an article..maybe this could be added to the top of the page though underneath the main categories..

I don't think Gamegrep looks too messy at the moment. Most game sites are looking like this, with so much E3 news to report.

Hm, you could always check out the main E3 article on Neoseeker. ;D It's floating around the forums somewhere.

Another gaming news site similar to this one, as a gamegreper you must constantly seek its destruction
