why bastilla

i never thought about this but i was just thinking...

why would the jedi council sent bastilla on this mission to capture revan. It is obvious revan would of killed them all if he ever got the chance.. and why sent bastilla if the republic needs her battle meditation..

what do you guys think?

re: why bastilla

Because Jedi phail at life, obviously. Think about it, they use SWORDS, for god's sake. Why not use a giant repeating blaster cannon?

re: why bastilla

Because Bastilla had a force bond with Revan.

re: why bastilla

Because for four reasons. First, she was the most powerful jedi that wasn't on the council. Second, she needed to be at the battle. Third, Bastilla knew Reven and could predict Reven. And finally, it was in the storyline! Don't overthink things.

re: Why Bastila?

No Bastila didn't know Revan. Lets remember that the Jedi Order didn't have that many Jedi to fight Revan. Many Jedi Padawans, Knights and even a few Masters followed Revan to war. But I do think that the Jedi Masters took a big risk by sending her. She wouldn't have been able to beat Revan since she couldn't beat Malak. And Revan was more stronger and more powerful than Malak.

re: why bastilla

I think Bastila has already know more 'bout Revan and maybe Jedi Council thought Bastila is powerful enough to face Revan.
The purpose to fight revan is to capture him/her and make him/her back to Jedi, I think.
Or maybe it's their fate to get along that way.
Umm, I need more bout this.

re: why bastilla

I think the reason why was mostly due to the fact that she was there at the battle and was mearly part of the boarding party, not the head of it, like as not the only reason why she bonded with Reven was the fact that she was the only one who lived...sides it's in the script

re: why bastila

Bastila even said she didn't know Revan which is why she didn't join him. At the time she was a little too young when Revan went to war. Like I said the Jedi Masters took a big risk by sending her... but they really didn't have a choice.

re: why bastilla

Actually, she did lead it, and in fact the Jedi council on Dantooine will say so. The reason she was there was for her battle meditation, because it was the only way they could possibly slip through the extensive defenses Revan had to confront him. While young, she was still powerful enough and, as far as I know, was a full fledged knight of the order.

re: Why Bastila

Bastila was not a full fledged Knight of the Order, she was still a Padawan, the Jedi Masters on Dantooine called her "Padawan Bastila" several times. But I think she did become a Jedi Knight after the events of KOTOR-I.
