Mission 15: Blockade (Need Help)
|
Ok, seriously, this it by far the hardest mission for me so far, and I'm sure they only get harder.
Anybody able to tell me some tips, or what guns to bring (if I have them.)
I'm not sure if I should just got back and play the first 14 missions on easy to help build my guys health and possible gun supply.

hey there hope this helps a bit
mission 15: BLOCKADE
the walking fortress is not the target on this one, all the robots that fly out of it are.
the fortress has several weak points that you can shoot. 1.) the ROTATING ANTENA (near the middle/ belly) 2.) the LASER TURRETS (obvious after they start firing) 3.) the SPAWNING PORTAL (the chest plate that drops things)
now the portal becomes a target in latter missions, but right now just shoot down all the ROBOT SHIPS AND WALKERS.
RECOMENDED WEAPONS:
PRIMARY: ASSUALT RIFLE: any as long as it shoots straight
SECONDARY: SNIPER RIFLE: high power, w/ decent ammo ROCKET LAUNCHER: high power and shoots straight MISSILE: only if prefered
ENEMY WEAK POINTS:
WALKERS:
ASSAULT RIFLE: multiple shots cause them to miss-fire and can take them easy.
SNIPER RIFLE: if the rifle has ARMOR PIERCING you can get 2 in one shot
MISSILE: if your health is low use any with B+ to S homing
ROBOT SHIPS:
ASSAULT RIFLE: BEST WAY TO TAKE THEM OUT
MISSILE: if your health is low use any with B+ to S homing
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU ANY!

I ended up going back to some of the earlier levels and playing through them on Hard. I was able to get a more powerful rocket launch (230 dmg, with 3 loaded and an assault rifle with 3 round burst with 40 dmg), so it was a lot easier. Plus my guy's health was around 200 points higher, so that helped as well.
The best thing I've noticed so far is that its a good idea to go back and do the levels on a harder setting, and hope for better weapons, and get that extra health.
I love that fact that for many of these mission, I end up being alone and going "Rambo" and coming out fairly unharmed.

going back through the levels is a great way to level up and earn weapons.
i think (but i could be wrong) each level has different weapons hidden in it. I've spent hours playing through some levels but i just keep getting the same weapon about 12 times (I kid you not).
i think i played the 1st and 2nd levels about 30 times before i went on ahead.
also, beating each level all the way through can unlock hidden weapons (see the cheats section)
the only thing i'd change about this game is I'd put in some unlockable costumes for the hero! guns are kewl but costumes are better any day!
PLAY ON GRASSHOPPER, PLAY ON!

I don't know about playing the early levels so much b4 moving on. I'd start at Level 53 and work my way up and play each stage 2 or 3 times, making sure I picked everything up.
Most likely you'll get the final models of the weapons later in the game. Besides, while going through the difficulties, I noticed that we didn't start getting new weapons until Level 20 or so.

Yeah I've noticed that too with the weapons. I keep getting the same weapon over and over, and when I do get a new weapon, its useless at the time.
I really hope some of the weapons you get at the harder levels are insane and do massive amount of damage.

If your having trouble w/ a Level, pass it and move to the next one, it might be a little easier and you might get a better weapon. My friend and I must have passed 6 levels and gone to build our health at least 8 different times. I said this b4, if you don't have a 2nd player you won't get very far in hard and inferno missions. You could build your health up to an insane amount, maybe 80,000, take a strong bomb and run to the middle, get swarmed and BOOM! that area is pretty clear and use ZE guns to clean it up.

I'm not saying skip a level on easy or normal, I'm talking about hardest and inferno. If you started on easy it should be easy to complete and all levels will be unlocked. I'm pretty sure once you complete the first levels on easy they are unlocked and you just choose the difficulty on any level you want.
