Alonso's 2nd was genius, he's been determined to score from the Half way line since he joined, he's tried it quite a few times now but its usually a routine save for the keeper, except against Kaunas when he hit the post, but as soon as he got it i knew he'd go for goal, i know there was no keeper but that was a great finish considering he was about 60-65 yards out. Yeah I've seen him do quite a few. I remember his one last season against Man U at Old Trafford when Carrol saved it but when he shot I was just like 'SHIT'. Great game yesterday, I was getting so happy when Luton were 3-1 up, I was getting ready to come into school and make fun of the Liverpool fans but Alonso's first goal. Superb. Second goal was funny because of Gerrard and Gerrard falling over . Luton were amazing for a Champoionship side, pushing Livrpool for about 60 mins. I'm quite happy with the Reading draw against West Brom, now I'm probably gonna go to the replay at MAdejski. Never a pen for West Brom though.

They've played really well but that pitch is terrible lol. I think they're more used to it which is why they're playing better. That Bardsley shot would've been a great goal had it gone in. Ronney and Ronaldo on, Rooney is the skipper. Could be a sign for teh future. This message was edited by NizelMan on Jan 08 2006.

0-0 Well played Burton. What a save from their keeper from Jones shot right at the end. Not an extra game we needed but should dismiss them quiote easily at OT.

On the bright side, Pique looks good. Yeah Pique was quality today apart from a few errors. Looks like a really good defender but as the commentators said, he needs to improve on upper body strength.

I remember last year or this year you getting knocked out by Doncaster. It's always hard going to a lower league side away especially with teh conditions. They always make it hard for whatever team tehy're playing, I don't remeber seiing a home lower league side getting battered by a Premiership this round. We'll win at OT definately and maybe field a slightly stronger team, had Park not been injured I think we would have done better. Happy for Burton though, they should be financially secure for the next few years now. The pitch was bad for both teams but Burton were a lot more used to it than Utd as you saw in teh first half. Then Man U found out a way how to play with the conditions by pumping long balls to Saha whoul should've scored after Ronaldo's great ball.

Rossi was absolutely stunning today. His little touches and that piece of skill to set up Saha was just amazing. Happy he's finally been noticed, other Utd fans will agree iwth me that we've been getting happy over him since he joined, finally into the limelight. Saha was quite poor today, should've had about 5 including teh one at the end when he was through then the ref blew the whistle lol. Ferdinand looked decent in centre mid and Richardson was stunning as well, finally fulfilling his potential. SO many R's as teh future of UNited, Ronaldo, Rooney, Rossi, Richardson. Wow.

I agree with that. He's not in teh same class as the mEssi's and Rooney ATM but will be quality in teh future. Eto'o is better than RVN but a lot diferent. Eto'o likes to pick up the ball and run at people, RVN is more a hold up ball striker. I've sais this before, no-one can be compared to Ronaldinho ATM, he is in a league of his own. Rooney is a great player though, best young player in the world without a doubt for me,

comments anyone? reckless? Yeah when I saw teh crowd at teh beginning at like 5.30 I thought the game would kick of at like 5.45 and then a lot of people would turn up but then when I saw the teams coming out and saw teh crowd I was just quite shocked so I just turned it to eurosport and watched Egypt vs Ivory Coast which was a great match.

WTF, Rio or Vidic is going to play in the midfield, still playing 3 up front, Rooney, Saha and RVN . This is the team, dunno about positions: Van Der Saar, Neville, Ferdinand, Silvestre , Brown, Vidic, Richardson, Park, RVN, Saha and Rooney. 4 centre backs and 3 strikers . Also don't know why Ronaldo isn't even on the bench after returning from his ban. This message was edited by NizelMan on Jan 29 2006.

Saha is starting to show why United got him now, his performances in the last few games are promising for United fans. I fully agree with that. I've never said a bad word about him, a lot of United fans doubted him when he was injured and wasn't doing much but I always knew he would be able to perform again. His first touch is just so good, it always sets him up perfectly, the only thing he needs to improve on IMO is his passing at times. Our 2 wingers/centre midfielders did well today as well, Park was stunning and what a player he has proved to be, Richardson was also very good, getting two goals will be great for him. Vidic looked good at centre back, only a few miscommunications and errors and I don't feel he should've been sent off. Gary Neville as well, did LOADS of running upo and down that right.

Don't think it was intentional, his teammate cleared it and it came up and hit his hand.

What? Vidic couldn't even get out of the way, Miller practically charged into him. It was an accident, and a stupid yellow card. There was nothing intentional about it. A mix of both IMO, he couldn't really get out the way but when you see the replay its clear that he just stands in front of Miller to block him from getting through, although Rio was there so may have got the ball.
