Wojciech hasn't travelled due to an ankle injury he obtained in the warm up Saturday. Wenger said something interesting about Mannone though. Said that at the start of the season he was 5th choice (Wojciech, Fabianski, Martinez and Shea?) which is a bit much but then said he's established 2nd choice (Bye Flappyhandski) and pushing for the number 1 jersey. Interesting one tonight, I fancy we could absolutely batter them but also reckon our players might shirk under the atmosphere. That said, they didn't in Stoke and didn't in Liverpool so who knows.

Montpellier have been poor so far domestically (think they're in the bottom half of the table), lost to a newly promoted side, lost their best striker to us, and we've not lost our opening CL game in ages. I would.

Was speaking in general, only saw the highlights of our game tonight and he had some decent touches. But no it's not too far off the mark, off the ball he makes great runs and his interlinking with Podolski has pulled defences across numerous times already. Giroud came to us expecting to be a sub, not walk into the first team and have everybody outside the club expecting him to replace a 30 goal a season striker and writing him off after 90 minutes.

The media have/are. Have been since the Liverpool game actually. On the contrary, I can't recall seeing any of our fans suggesting he's going to set the world alight; they/we/I expect him to start scoring soon, but no more than 15 goals a season.

I guess with Liverpool away on the weekend, this match was always going to be an efficiency exercise...get a 1-0, sit on it, hence Nani taking a pen.
Understand what your saying with regards to this being an effeciency exercise but how does having Nani taking the penalty help that? Surely it would be better to have more proven Pk taker go 2-0 up then concerve energy for Sunday? Well you don't because his point was he let Nani take it knowing he'd miss so they could continue to hold on to a 1 goal lead.

Got to feel for Celtic, as funny as it is. Would have been one of their greatest results in years and from the sounds of it a few of the lads at the back deserved move than losing in the 94th minute. Still, you were *bleep* about Eduardo so haha.
Shakthar could be horrible dark horses this year, if they qualify in second then they'll prove a tough task for a group winner

Not helped by the fact that Podolski doesn't want to track back either. Why not play Gervinho on the wing and play Podolski in his proper role? Not a clue. Don't know why Giroud isn't starting ahead of Gervinho either. All I can think of is pace up front.

Gibbs was quick enough to mask being caught out of position a lot of the time, Santos isn't. Plus he's up against proper pace tonight so it's being highlighted even more. Dangerous to bring him off for Koscielny though, Vermaelen and especially BFG have been rocks and moving a yellow carded Vermaelen out to LB would risk a second yellow against that pace.
More worried about how blunt we've been up front, can't see who a goals going to come from.
We won't lose though. Guaranteed.
