I think that's all he'll care about, he's had a long and very successful career to date. I don't see why a move to Arsenal would appeal to him if they weren't going to pay him large amounts.

Even at his age, he could probably do a job for quite a few top European teams in another league where he'd get the chance to win something new.

Ignoring the fact it's not ever going to happen, he'd go to a team like Arsenal for the challenge to help them and attempt to win trophies. That's gotta be better footballing wise than pissing it away in Asia (ignoring the money aspect; the sole reason he's there).

But he's coming into the late stages in a career where he's been extremely successful so he's more chasing a last paycheck rather than looking to win trophies. If he wanted to carry on helping a team win trophies then surely he would've stayed at Chelsea seeing as the option to stay was there?

You're ignoring such two critical thing though. Footballing-wise, yes obviously he'd be better playing anyone who's in the CL. But personally, I'd rather get 200k a week at the age of 34 for just pretty much breathing, than try to fight for a place with a wage of iono less than half i'd get for a club that's not even contending for trophies but growing. Not to mention, he has got every trophies possible for an english club, except the euro super cup and fifa club world cup thingybob. Oh, and europa league.

If he does somehow go to Arsenal, it'd be interesting. Wonder if he'll give a toss as much as he did for us every now and then and marseille.
