Exonerate weren't we supposed to be getting a young Mexican from Pachuca or Chivas (can't remember) this summer. iirc he had a trial last summer and we agreed a deal with him. I'm thinking his name was Marco Bueno but I'm not 100% there. Any idea what happened?

Not really an improvement though? Maybe more strength in depth but I'd say you've lost two of your three best players and the guys that have come in won't be your best players.

Tbf we weren't going to find an improvement for Modric, Moutinho's perfect as AVB knows what he wants to do with him. To be fair Modric and Rafa appeared both to want away and as Rafa's nearly 30 it was probably best we sold him whilst we still could. It seemed he also wanted to go back to Germany so it's a decent deal all round, though I'm upset to lose him.

We may have lost 3/4 of our most influential and best players but Vertonghen, Moutinho and Dembele aren't bad replacements at all.

I hope they keep showing that Kirk Broadfoot interview all day.

Aye they're not bad replacements at all, just seems a downgrade to what you did have for your first 11 but maybe a better squad of 25.

Strange how Wenger got slated for waiting until the last minute for selling our best players and having to rush around to replace them yet Levy is still thought of as a master negotiater etc...
