Went to the Watford game today. 1-0 Defoe header. *bleep* me was it boring though. One good thing that came from it is seems Vertonghen is indeed the absolute boss we all hoped he'd be. Can easily play CM if we ever need someone in the middle. Confident bringing the ball forward and soo calm on the ball.

The rest of them looked so disinterested though lol.

Any Idea on who your going to sign striker wise? Still cant beleive its less than two weeks till the season starts and you only have one senior striker in the squad.

It's all gone very quiet. Deals for Damiao and Remy look to be off because we're not willing to match their asking price, while for whatever reason, finalising the Ade deal is taking forever.

Links with Rondon, who's moved to Russia, and Boriello, but nothing coming from either.

I think Levy should drop his transfer dealings role and bring in someone else because he is a miserable failure at it. All he really ever has done is to get Rafa Van der Vaart.

This window alone, Levy has brought in two players who have already shown they can cut it at top levels, while cutting the wage bill by releasing and selling deadwood, all with just a net £1.5m outlay.

Vertonghen (or any centre back) was always our primary target and Levy managed to get him for a competitive price. Now he's addressing the striker situation, but doing it in his own way. I've had enough of people saying we should throw £20m at Internacional for Damiao just because that's what they've asked for him, with patience, Levy will come good and sign a solid striker for a good price.

Tbf I'm disappointed we haven't gone back in for Berbatov, Ade is the best striker we've had since though so I suppose it makes sense.

Is there any articles that actually explain the Ade deal without sensationalising it to make him out to be a robbing bastard? I was under the impression he wanted City to pay his charity money so he could take a pay cut with us, but now he's asking for a shorter deal or something from us? What?

Adebayor still looks possible. Damiao's agent said something about us being interested today but we're yet to bid. Inter's president has changed his tone as well. Previously said he wouldn't be listening to offers, but now has almost given Damiao a price.

Patience is needed tbh. Waaaaaaay too many Spurs fans being too impatient for my liking. Constantly slamming levy and avb already because the Adebayor deal isn't done and that Modric is still here, despite both deals not being our fault. Ade deal is about his charity, and the fact he's dropping 80k a week to come here, means he won't be able to give as much to his Africa, so it seems to be sorting out a way for us/Ade/City to compensate that money from his current City contract. And Real simply haven't offered enough yet. Modric will stay or go to PSG imo now.

This Adebayor deal has seen alot of Spurs fans turn on him no real reason. Now saying we don't need and we can do better. It's a joke. His wages will be a club high, but the fee is peanuts for a striker of his ability. If we spent £20m+ on Adebayor and Damiao that would be terrific business. Damiao would be overpriced, but the fact Adebayor is undervalued in terms of fee would make the deal look pretty good. I'm not worried tbh. After all we've already signed 2 more players than we usually have at this point of the window. AVB has used pre-season to assess the squad too and we've only just returned from the States so things should pick up now. Was never going to do any unknown deals whilst on tour.

Apparently Modric has been in Croatia/on holiday this whole time and his agent has been left to just chill in London picking up the fines which is just disgusting if true, in many ways I kind of want the guy to rot in the reserves now, even though I'd be happy for him to go to a team like Madrid cus he deserves it and we could do with the money. What a moronic thing to do.

It's a shame really that so many fans are getting hyped up in the wrong way towards AVB & Adebayor, it'll probably be those calling for their heads when we're inevitably denied fourth spot or not top of the table by Christmas just because good ol' St. 'Arry said he could win us the league within the next few years. He's guaranteed to be on standby for whenever there's a wee bit of strife during the season, a cert. -___-

Never really cared for this ITK shit before last year, but once you get to know whose 'reliable' and who should be avoided you barely need to read news stories anymore. Seen so much bullshit from well established papers this summer it's unreal. Of course, everything has the possibility to be wrong, but the likes Bale faking injury to not play for GB, Adebayor being greedy, Modric already signing for Madrid etc all wrong. Just too much bullshit to bare. Sad part is, alot of people take that as gospel and don't even contemplate the possibility of it being wrong. Oh well lol.

I thought Luka had been training for the past 3 weeks tbf, I knew he was training when the squad left for America. In 2 minds about Luka personally. He's quality, but the bridges are burnt now. Bit my tongue so far and haven't resorted to slating him like others I've seen as I understand why he'd want to leave in the first place, it's Real Madrid after all.
