Aye, and at the time, even I thought that was a decent trade for you. Get rid of someone who had never been that decent for you, and a woefully off-form Torres, and gain two young and promising players of two different styles.

It may not have worked out as well as you would have liked, but I still think you're better off with what you have now, even if not by much. Carroll may not count for anything if Rodgers really wants rid, but he finally started to look more like the player you thought you bought in the last few months, and Suarez has done almost everything but reliably finish. I still think the latter is a little bit too greedy at times, but if there's any style of play to balance that out, then it's the one that Rodgers brings with him.

Hmm. Swear i remember him playing well but then not getting a minute the following game, sure i was raging at rafa for not playing him when lucas wasn't very good at all. That could be wrong though if he won that award so idk. But im also sure i remember his agent saying something like he was fully fit just not getting selected and he wanted to play more, or something along those lines.

As for keane, i was referring to the times when rafa dropped him, much like aqua, whenever he started to play well, for example when he scored 2 against wbrom. Dropped the next game then

His agent's said a lot if things over the last few years. I'd taker anything he says with a pinch of salt.

Keane wasn't dropped after scoring two against West Brom. He started and missed a sitter against Bolton.

Thing is though, we'd probably need the funds now to sign other players

Plus, what if they don't buy him next summer for whatever reason? Would have been a bit pointless then.

I'd be surprised if it's more than nothing. I make our interest nothing more than opportunism, and surely I can't see us even coming close to matching the sort of offer it's supposed that West Ham have made.

As silly as it sounds i'd honestly rather see us accept a lower bid from another team then sell him to Newcastle as a matter of principle.
