No need to read into anything tonight. All that was, was the best workout any of those have had all pre-season. Would have benefited them all. Nice for Downing that he got a goal though.

It's worth mentioning that this was a team currently in the middle of their season, where their players have plenty of match fitness.

Who cares if it has Downing? It's a Liverpool shirt, wear it with pride.

Well, Brendan basically said Agger didn't go because he isn't as fit as the rest after coming back late and they're aware of his history of injuries. Hmmmmmmm. I don't really believe that tbqh. If that really was the case then how come Gerrard went (and played 90 minutes) and clearly wasn't up to speed, and Glen, who both came back after Agger. Surely if he isn't up to speed then that's all the more reason to play him anyway?

Anyway, i'm chuffed we won that game, was quite tough tbh. Pleased Brendan won his first competitive match too. Downing scoring such a good goal though? What is this world coming to?
