This is not a bad thing as far as they're concerned, they're currently aiming to be the dominant team in England over the next few years and by buying the more established players they have more chance of doing so, and in the future they'll just buy their young players from other teams.

We have also signed a lot of established players over the years but more recently we've signed the younger players with potential, obviously these players are more risky buys but theres a chance they will be in our team for the next 15 years.

Back to the Forlan point, there's no denying he had a shit overall record for us but I wouldn't attempt to slag off a player who has a half decent scoring record against my team, without expecting a video of such goals to be posted.
