I was a massive hater on Mikel the last couple of years but under RDM he was solid and I think he has done enough to be given a chance. Who knows, maybe Essien will recapture his form? Also, Romeu didn't look that bad under AVB.

I remember in Ancelotti's first season when we won the double .. Mikel was a brick wall that season and was superb, but he then faded out a little bit. I agree with you though that he looked better under RDM.

If Essien can stay injury free then there's more chance of it happening, but I think he's lost a bit of the willingness to always challenge for 50-50's.

Agree with that. I'm hoping we can shift Romeu out on loan (with condition on being able to recall him) to get some experience, as that lad is definitely good enough to start in a mid table team at least.

De Bruyne has gone off to Werder on loan for the season. Not a bad move, but only if he gets a considerable amount of game time. Lukaku too is looking to go out on loan, possibly to Fulham. If that's the case then we're surely after another striker?

We've spent £58m and now have 8 players to occupy 3 positions, we definitely have spent for the sake of it

Yeah I wouldn't mind a 'boring' transfer window if it involved bringing in Hazard, Oscar and Marin and you'll probably end up buying a few more players.

Honestly, I hope Roman decides that he's bored of you one day and decides to get rid of you lot and call in the hundreds of millions you owe him. Then you can experience a real 'boring' transfer window.

Loaning out Lukaku seems like a good transfer. What kind of striker do you guys expect to sign?

Like I said before I don't think it'll be a big transfer such as Hazard, but definitely somebody established although he'll have to be fine sitting on the bench as needed. Only player I can think you've been linked with is Cavani.
