We drew 1-1 with PSG. Lucas Piazon scored the equaliser late on after Nene had given PSG the lead in the first half.

A draw was a decent result considering PSG were the better side for the first half and it was more even in the second half. Could've won it if Malouda wasn't a shithouse. Nice to see Piazon score though. Hopefully we'll see him feature at times this season in the league cup and that.

Also, a bid was rejected for Lewandowski and Skysports has an article with them saying it was us who had it rejected. Source.

What the *bleep* kind of formation are Chelsea going to use?! Hazard & Marin already signed, De Bruyne coming back, Oscar likely. And bids in for Moses, Lewandowski and Willian?!

Apparently the Oscar deal is edging closer, but he's said he won't agree to it until the Olympics are over.

Got that off skysports, but it seems like he wants to join so it's very likely to happen.

Fair point, but if Di Matteo's had a say in these signings/chasings then he's not watched his own tactics recently.

How so? People seem to think that when we played defensively against Barcelona and Bayern that we did it all the time, but we didn't do it the whole time. I think we'll have that extra attacking edge to us next season though because he will have had the whole summer to work with the players and do what he likes rather than have to take over and focus on certain things such as improving defence.

In other news, Thorgan Hazard has now signed.

We're often criticized for our defensive approach against Bayern and Barcelona, and people are often inclined to think that's Di Matteo's system and that's the kind of football we'll be playing. The thing is, AVB tried to enforce a playing style that our players' weren't capable of. Di Mattero recognized this and tactically played appropriately for the team he had in his disposal and what we were up against.

I can almost guarantee we won't be playing anything like we did last season.

Think this season will be the most radical change from one season to another under Abramovic's reign. Mixed emotions of excitement, optimism and skepticism. More or less no one is certain of how we will be playing or what our line-up will be, unlike previous years when the line-up has been very much the same, as with the football we've been playing.

In regards to Oscar, I've not seen him play apart from the Youtube videos which aren't really a clear indicator, but from what I've heard people have been comparing him to Lampard. He seems to have a pretty sound long shot, but he looks to be far more attacking and a more skill orientated player who likes to run at defenders. This is good, however so does Hazard, Mata, Marin and De Bruyne presumably. I could be wrong however, but if we're expected to field at least 3/4 of these 5 players (Oscar, Hazard, Mata, De Bruyne) then in my opinion our most crucial player will be our defensive midfielder, who will probably be Mikel. And personally, I don't think he's good enough, but we have enough cover (Essien, Romeu) so I don't think we should worry about spending on a defensive midfielder just yet. I'd much prefetr Modric than Oscar, but we're stepping in the right direction.

We must spend on a right-back. Ivanovic is capable, and we have Hutchinson coming through but for the style we seem to be wanting to play next season, Ivanovic cannot offer us this. Danni Alves sounds perfect and has been linked with a move away from Barcelona, as has Maicon, but I think he might be too old. We've been linked with van Der Wiel, who I haven't seen much of and I didn't watch the EURO's where he apparently play dismally and that French right-back whom I don't know too much about.
