	Really don't understand why Newcastle would be interested in Carroll whilst they still have Ba and Cisse. If they lost one of them then I could understand but if Carroll joined one of them would have to join from the bench and I doubt they'd be happy with that. Also, Carroll isn't as good as he used to be in my opinion. -------------------

It's not that he isn't as good as he used to be; he's played a bit part role in a shambles of a Liverpool team with players that don't provide the sort of service he was getting with us, isn't scoring the goals, cost a fooking shitload, so is unsurprisingly getting a bit of flak from the footballing world. He's still a talented player and, given the right conditions, could return to being a 10-15+ goals a season striker. If there was a chance we could bring him in on loan, on decent wages, I'd take it in a flash. He wouldn't be first choice for obvious reasons but we're in need of a striker and Carroll would work very well alongside Cisse or Ba in a front two or leading the line of a trio. It's already been enthused how reinforcements are necessary for the club to compete on all fronts next year and we could help Carroll find a bit of form were it to happen. I'd be a little wary of how the likes of Staylor and the fans would take it though - can see him being booed by a section of idiots - plus the actual likelihood of Carroll returning is very small tbf.

	Simpson has travelled with the squad for the game today, so looks like an move away is put on hold until at least next week. HBA, Krul and Cabaye are still on rest after the Euro's.

	It's a very odd clause. But with half a month to go, any bids will have to come in soon if they want him at that price. Just a thought however, with Ibrahimovic's move to PSG and our bid for De Jong stalling, I wonder if we'll revive our interest in Kevin Gameiro? By all accounts he hasn't lived up to their high expectations, and with Zlatan now coming in and he'll drop further down the pecking order and might be available for a cut price. ------------------- Credit to Memento Mori
