you've gotta understand levy's thinking, we're one of the best teams in the country, there's probably what 2 clearer stronger starting x1's (ars/chels may be stronger but it's a toss up and any difference between the 3 is minimal and could be turned around in 1 window for any of the 3), great squad, great finances, state of the art facilities completed within the next 12months. redknapps at the back end of his career, this is a chance now to get a manager to work with this squad for the next 5 or 10 years, rather than the 2 or 3 at best we'd have got out of redknapp, whos regime was already nosediving. we'll be told how harry bought champs league football and the rest to spurs so automatically its a *bleep*ing awful decision rahrahrah, rather than looking at where THFC are now they'll be looking at where we were 2 yrs ago at the pinnacle of his reign, if fans took the same attitude we'd be rightly ridiculed. of course his achievements and immense work and progress he's bought to the club wont be forgotten, but we can be sympathetic or do whats best and try and take a step forward at the right time, rather than regret not doing anything in 3 months time as would've probably been the case. we were going stale, stagnating and have made a tough business call. over the last 6 months redknapp has been doing his best to not only try and force DL's hand, but to do it in the public eye via his chums at the daily mirror and the rest

i couldn't begin to guess who we'd appoint but it wont be villas-boas or martinez or anyone like that. it'll be someone with experience and who could offer us a fair time still. just think logically we need someone who needs to be able to handle a big squad of big egos at this present time (avb and martinez don't strike me as the type), someone whos been there done it and would know how to pull us away from the chasing pack and establish us into the top 3/4 teams in the country, martinez hasnt even got this elusive mid table job hes been talked up for for about 2yrs now why are we gonna go for him, so far on his cv it says we've been better than 3 crap teams every season and perform in the spring. avb failed down the road at our rivals so we're gonna take inspiration from that yh. moyes seems logical and most able to control a squad like ours, has been biding his time, over a decade as a successful manager in this league

i rate moyes, and really want to like him but there's something about him. if man city, arsenal or man united appointed moyes i'd think 'yeah, good solid appointment' but when its my own club its a bit different. probably because he's so *bleep*ing bland, as a person, as a manager. of course he gets the job done, excellent manager, great record, he's the safety choice if you will

4th is 4th, in any normal season it would be a big achievement and still is despite not getting the champions league spot. So now the situation at Spurs is qualify for the Champions League or get sacked?

And in any normal season a team doesnt nosedive so spectacularly. his objective wasn't to finish fourth was it, it was to qualify for the champions league and it was in his own hands the whole time

The situation at spurs is do well or get sacked. if he was at chelsea, manchester city, gibraltar fc or dinamo moscow under 7's and failed such as he did in the 2nd half of the season he'd have got the chop its not a spurs only policy man. theres a way of going about your job, you earn your £3m a year at tottenham and at the very least you show the chairman courtesy especially if you dont fulfil your requirements set, after a year of talking us up as 'overtaken arsenal 'overtaken chelsea' 'on a par with man united and man city' and then having your words thrown back in your face the next point of action is not to go on bbc telly and publicly discuss boardroom issues do you? christ

and with respect i don't think this squad needs £30m+ worth of investment, and if it did we have £30m ready luckily. and if we didn't we could raise that out of deadwood like bentley, jenas, bassong, corluka, dos santos and so on. we could get rid of modric to make this unneeded £30m or get rid of players not needed while also freeing up about £200k p/w off the wage bill, something the good businessman would probably do...

last summer we had a £13m bid (£10m upfront) for dos santos which we accepted no reason why we wont get one too far out of that price range maybe £2-3m less at worst, corlukas prob going to russia for £5m to bilic's new club, bassong's a good defender who'd fetch £4-5m no worries, bentley and jenas simply wouldn't be sold for anything less than £3-4m because you'd rather keep them as back up than let them go for a smaller fee than that there'd be nothing in it for us, pienaars a good player whos just impressed out on loan would again fetch £4-5m no worries
