	i meant safety as in too keep us in top 5/6 (by proxy really given the amount of teams happy to finish 17th these days compared to 6/7 years back, less competitive across the league these days) and stop us descending back into accepting 9th as a good season lol , but i generally agree with benitez and what he could bring to the club, right man at the right time wouldn't mind fabio capello but he's gone 5 years out of club management now though, may take time to readjust to day to day side of it. i dont wanna be one of them people who looks at foreign league tables, sees a small club in a decent position and proclaim their manager as the new wenger or ferguson to try look an expert (they know who they are), i dont know whos available, all i will say is i'm 99% sure levy already knows his man and has probably already spoke to him quote Star of Spurs quote monkeyslut Juande Ramos!!! 	Can't see Capello dealing with the English press again. Chelsea might have been decent for him as he'd have the backing of the fans for standing firm over Terry. Plus the fans would again be on his back for 'ruining England'. Klopp'd be a great choice, but he's not coming here. Regarding AVB: he's got potential, no doubting that but not sure what would have changed so much between now and Chelsea. Granted, we've not got the same 'player power' mentality but some of their football last year was awful. If Levy's got a long redevelopment idea in mind he could be the man. We definitely wouldn't have waited this long to sack him if we hadn't had someone else lined up. Will be announced by this time next week imo. -------------------

	I'm a little surprised Spurs fans are so glad to see him go, even if he has "taken you as far as he can", he's got you into the top 4 twice in three years how much further do you want him to take you? This is a big gamble imo, you're far from guaranteed a manager who can keep you at the same level never mind take you forwards. -------------------

Spurs were going backwards under Redknapps management anyway. As much I like Redknapp, he signed Nelson and saha, should be sacked for that alone. God knows what sort of shite he would have brought had he stayed this summer.

	Arry was always too busy "man managing" to actually tell the players what the bleep they should actually be doing, hence the bale-drifting problem not going away when it clearly wasn't working, poor substitution and squad rotation cos he was terrified of upsetting anyone in his triffic first team and sheer ineptitude in the transfer windows. He had to go, we need a manager who doesn't fanny about for the media and who won't mind a bit of stick (be it from fans, media or players) as long as he gets results. AVB might be ok in that sense so long as he kept a decent grip on things, our squad suits him better than Chelsea's did and we wouldn't call for his head so quickly, so maybe he could fulfil a bit more of that promise he showed. Undecided on Moyes. Martinez can bleep off -------------------

It is a gamble imo because getting the right manager will be difficult, non of the managers they are being linked with would fill me confidence if I was a Spurs fan, they would all be 50/50 on whether they would do a good job. Capello would be the most likely to do a good job but he's obviously had his problems in England and his English is still bleeping awful after 5 years. Maybe Moyes could do a good job but as people have said he's untried at this level and has never had to spend big money so it's a gamble. With Benitez you could be getting the Valencia/Liverpool early days Benitez or you could be getting the Inter Milan Benitez. Levy dosn't have the best track record with appointing managers either. Sacking Jol to bring in Ramos? -------------------

	I can't think of anyone who thought Spurs would finish 4th last season so they overachieved. Chelsea winning the luckiest CL in history is bad luck and just one of those things imo and if no CL football is the reason then it's a bit rash. With Arsenal and Chelsea strengthening, I only see Spurs going backwards from here. ------------------- Visit the Sports Forum!
