He's played there quite a few times for Roma and it's long been thought that he'd be at the heart of a back three for Italy.

Can't believe they've gone with Di Natale on the bench. Cassano's missed so much football, while Toto's been incredible for the past two years.

Aye likely to be a sweeper/libero, hopefully with Spain playing no recognised centre forward he has licence to come out when they're attacking

Think he's taking up the libero role, which is something I'll particularly enjoy watching as it's an uncommon sight in the modern game.

I have a feeling Italy will get a win here, although Balotelli and Cassano will have to be up for it. With Pirlo enjoying himself something of an Indian summer with Juve last year, I expect he'll be key to how the result turns out. It's an incredibly deep lying midfield, although the wing backs will no doubt be pressing forward at every opportunity.

It's certainly an odd choice by del Bosque to go in without a natural striker, although I can see his thinking behind it. I can't see it going to plan though and I think we're going to see the famed Italian defence of the past back in action here today. I'll be surprised if we don't see Llorente on at some point in the 2nd half.

So in that in case, it's going to be 3-0 Spain.
