I wouldn't say they're depressing candidates. They've both done really well and are young, it's only natural for a bigger club to be interested to give them a chance. Martinez more so. Hasn't g_lfc admired/wanted Martinez for a while?

Edit: where did you even see that? I cant see it on sky and the only person mentioning it on twitter isn't anything to do with SSN

Depressing candidates and mid table based on what? The clubs they manage. Even though the man who has just led you to the Champions League only previously managed MK Dons and was sacked by WBA and rejected by Birmingham?

did you watch our run to the champions league? we were shit and in the premier league we wasnt a massive improvement on avb. speaks volume that alot of chelsea fans still dont want di matteo to get the job even though he won it, me been one of them. you'll stay a mid table club next year with either of those two, will be defiantly whacking a fair bit of money onit in the bookies. martinez seems like he's in the running for the job based on the last like 10 games of the season, brendan rodgers wouldnt be that bad but like i said cant see him taking you anywhere.

edit; addin bit onto it. by depressing i meant that you surely cant say your not gutted about not attracting some bigger managers, it shows how much you've slipped in the last couple of years. not sure what happened with AVB but id take him easily over those two, he more than likely turned you down, as did Frank de Boer, it's got to be depressing for a liverpool fan

Dose annoy me when people say this, he's been doing a very good job the whole time he's been at Wigan and at Swansea before that, I've rated him for a long time.

Would he have even been considered back in March when Wigan were bottom of the league and had won just four times all season? No. He's being considered on the back of a good couple of months.

Anyway, looks like it's going to be Rodgers going by all the rumours at the moment. Can't say I'd be pleased with either to be honest. Both have the potential to be good managers but I think it's far too early in their careers to be taking on a job with expectations like this one.
