Anyone who thinks it would be a step down for Kagawa to go from Dortmund to United is an idiot frankly, or a bitter Liverpool fan. They don't win the league for once to a City team with a vastly superior squad who can only pip them on GD and all of the sudden they're on the decline. Don't kid yourself, they're still the biggest club in England and one season where they get outdone by the new sugar daddy on the block won't make them spiral into oblivion. They're still capable of improving themselves, and they will still be able to keep up with City, who will never be as good as anyone thinks they will. This season they were supposed to run away with the league and do well in the CL, they did neither. They'll probably be like Chelsea, turn into a powerhouse and win the league a couple of times and go far in the CL, but they are not going to wrestle complete control of the Prem from United. As long as they improve on some of the shit they have in their team, which is a very realistic possibility, and get a new manager after Ferguson goes like Mourinho, who United can actually get, (unlike Liverpool lol) then I don't see how they wouldn't be able to compete with City next season and beyond.

I don't see them declining to the point that they won't be able to challenge City. That's just a fantasy that a lot of you want to see happen.

Liverpool, bigger club than Dortmund, arguably bigger than United. Haven't won the league in 22 years. I think I'd know pal.

In Japan, the Bundesliga means nothing and the Premier League means everything. That alone will be enough for Kagawa to move from Dortmund to United.

of course Dortmund aren't as big a club as United are, i don't think anyone is actually saying that.though in terms of quality at this present moment i'd say Dortmund have more of it, you saying United aren't in decline could be argued, going from league winners and champions league finalists to not being being the best team in Manchester and not getting past the group stages and the mighty Basel. it's certainly the worst United team i've ever seen despite Johnnyboi's long lingering posts suggesting otherwise. Kawaga would be fool not to jump at the chance to join Ferguson though and that's the major reason why he will.

I was focused more on how United weren't declining than whether or not Kagawa would go to them, but I agree that United's squad is relatively bad by their standards. But despite that they muster an 89 point season, level with City, with the worst team they've had in years as you put it. City will probably get better as they have each season but they're never going to be good enough and United will never be bad enough that the league will ever be dominated by City.

Apparently we've bid for Dembele.

I'd personally prefer him very much to Remy - he'd be about half the price, he can cover VDV and would probably be a sign that we're done with 4-4-2 (thank *bleep*ing christ for when that day comes). He'd be class backup.
