For what I find a really interesting and occasionally fun to work in sector, retail don't half *bleep* their staff over. I would have happily stayed in retail and worked my way up but for the hours. You want me to work till 10pm and weekends and bank holidays? *bleep* off! I'll go get paid better for sitting on my arse and have my evenings and weekends to myself! Cos of the amount of brainless gimps retail attracts, you only need half a brain yourself to go far.

Talking of hours though, plenty of times in Asda I'd do a 2-10 and then get up and do a 6-12 the next day.

6-12 was the process team who would "investigate" what the replenish team had done the night before. My job 2-8 was to pick the replenishment in the back for the twilight staff to replenish. I'd always finish early and give them a hand for the last couple of hours. So with already picking it, then putting it out, I'd get up the next morning and go investigate it. Essentially investigating my own work. So my morning shifts were always as easy as I made them.

Why don't you stop being a fag and tell your boss you're having a day off!?

I don't even get pay and half for Bank Holidays, sucks arse.

Yall need to get on the semi-self employed bandwagon. My regular hours are:

M: 9.30 - 12
T: 10.30 - 1
W: 10 - 12
T: 9.30 - 12
F: 10 - 12

Which I get paid €150 for - but if I actually make real appointments I get an extra €20 for each one. Then I do random shit on computers, so it's not like real work and I get paid at least €10 an hour for that. This week I made contracts for 8 hours total, I'm getting €140 for that alone. I've been doing this for three weeks now and I've already surpassed my monthly earnings at Spar. Piss easy work, from home.

Also, we're not staying in this industry for too long, we're going to try to open a shop before xmas which I will be 50% owner of, so yeah, growing up.

He's Irish, so I'm assuming he's back in Ireland.
