Arsenal made AC Milan look too good tonight.

I cant remember the last time I saw Arsenal made to look so bad. They usually have something about them even in their worse performances, but there was nothing there whatsoever. Granted Milan were quality tonight, but really, are Arsenal that bad?

If they play that badly against us next weekend they'll get ripped apart. That's not a biased or nonsensical view by any means as AC have that Striker that makes their attack tick and that DM that stops all the bullshit and they're surrounded by attacking flair, we have the same.

I'm still shocked at how bad they were though. Havent seen them like that in so long.


Also, what did Boateng do at Spurs for us to say he was shit and get shot of him? Tch.

Pompey Fan Despite Arsenal being below standards, give some credit to AC Milan because they were great tonight.

Wenger's worked a *bleep*ing miracle to have us stay in the top four the past few seasons, our board are a *bleep*ing joke and our rinsing the club dry. The more I read around about it, the more I'm seeing that Hill-Wood and the likes are bleeding us dry and Kroenke is the invisible man in all of this. Gazidis needs a rollicking too. I could go on and explain it a bit more but basically all that needs to be known for those interested is that our consistently impressive financial figures are a smokescreen to what is an underlying truth of a wage bill that's far too high, and commercial income that's far too low. Action has not been undertaken to resolve either, and that's why we've gone out and brought in the players we have as a last minute patch job.

The whole 'Arsene has money' is a mirage played out by the board because, yes, on paper, there's £30 million in the bank to spend, but that has to include wages for the duration of a players contract (and signing on fees, bonuses etc...) which really means we're looking at £15 million players on £60k a week for five years. Which gets us Arshavins, Gervinhos, Oxlade-Chamberlains.

Because you have continually had these 'new dawns' over the past 3 or 4 seasons, only to constantly sink around about after January, when you are shown up for not being able to go the distance in any competition. Just an outside view, you've got strong loyalty towards Wenger, and you're in a position where he can't be sacked, and won't walk away, it wouldn't seem like it, but I just honestly think Wenger won't win anything again at Arsenal (maybe the Carling Cup actually). He seems to have loyalty towards players who just aren't good enough either, Arshavin, Rosicky, Bendtner and Djourou in particular.

Hmm you clearly know more about me on the money side of things, how come the wage bill is out of control though, I thought you had a really tight wage structure? Wenger has said he's scouted practically every prospect in the world, I think Adam Johnson would have been a good buy when Man City bought him, surely within their range as well, it's said so much it's almost became cliché, but that midfielder with a bit of steel is still missing imo, like a true CM as opposed to Song who is a DM, Parker or Tiote would have been a good buy imo. Admittedly I was going off the view that he had money to spend, and therefore could have gone out and bought a Mata or a Silva, maybe a bit of a lazy view though, I'm just going off the top of my head.

But like I said, you're not in a disastrous position, it could be far far worse, 4th in the Premier League, and one of only 2 English clubs still in the CL.

I still reckon you could attract a quality manager, got the makings of a good team, Guardiola isn't going to stay at Barcelona forever, he's actually said I'm sure he wants to manage in England (mainly as he never played here), think he'd be a good manager, or even someone like Paul Lambert, who I think is a brilliant manager (read quite a view blogs on his tactical changes this year, clearly knows what he's doing). Just think a fresh perspective could do the club a world of good.

Vela, Diaby and Bendtner on 60k?! That's horrendous, how did Wenger get away with that? Basically sounds like they won't pay the highest wages, but they'll give pretty high wages to anyone, 60k on the likes of them is insane.

I just don't see why he wouldn't buy Parker for £5M, yet buys Arteta for £10M, doesn't make much sense to me, they're different players but he's just not £5M more, I've been impressed with him this season, but alongside Ramsey they're just too similar for me, two midfielders who are comfortable passing the ball around, and probably have great passing statistics, but I'd be surprised if they have many assists, don't seem to have much penetration, I think they'd work well with Wilshere though, he seems to have a bit more creativity and a willingness to run at defences.

The trophy thing is exaggerated, admittedly disappointing, but would anyone really take a win in the Carling Cup as opposed to Champions League qualification? Isn't there that stat about continually qualifying for the second round? tbh I can see why they'd stick with Wenger, he's doing a good job, just think it'd benefit both parties with a change.
