The fact is, regardless of how many times he said it, Luis Suarez hurled an insult towards Patrice Evra in reference to colour of his skin. For those idiots among you who do not know, or rather, pretend not to care, Afro-Caribbeans have been pillaged, raped and quite literally, left to eat crumbs from the tables of Empires for centuries upon centuries in Europe, so those of you prepared to criticise Evra as a 'pussio' or 'bullshitter' for complaining, while using the whole 'it's Suarez's culture, not his fault' argument, truly do need their frontal lobes examining. In addition, I fail to see - and I reference Michael Rosen here - queues of Afro-Caribbean Uruguayans queuing up to tell everyone how pleasant it is to be called 'negro' or 'negrito' in their home country.

No one is naming Suarez a racist, Evra himself has said that as much. Yet this bewildering refusal among a plethora of Liverpool supporters to accept that what Suarez said, regardless of how often he said it, is steeped in infinitely more cultural history from Evra's point of view, from the point of view of 'Blacks' - if we're going to call them that - being persecuted, than of Suarez' 'it's ok in my country' excuse, is frankly laughable. There seems to be a stubborn, irrational, frankly contemptible belief among Liverpool fans in asserting Suarez's comments to be perfectly fine, placed in cultural context. Well this belief, I'm afraid to say, is bullshit. It deeply offended Evra, as it would have any Afro-Caribbean player, including Glen Johnson, Ryan Babel and Emile Heskey.

So rather than clinging to the flag like the patriotic scoundrels you all appear determined to imitate, f****** grow up, and accept that whatever Suarez said, and however many times he repeated it or not, Evra had every right to be deeply offended by it, and to complain to the authorities. Shankly was a socialist, an egalitarian through and through; O' would this state of despicable affairs have the old master 'turning in his grave'. "
