You see, I do get it. I'm not saying you're in the KKK, It's just the most recent example of this sort of thing I've seen on here. I actually remember times in GD when racist jokes and things with racist connotations would be said and I'd be like "are there actually any black people on here cos it's bizarre that nobody takes any offence".

My point on it is that when you make a joke that is non-consequential because it's just a joke, it's not fully ok, but it's not like you've approached a black man and called him a *bleep*/coon/wog etc. which just isnt ok.

I dont understand Suarez's standpoint that his team mates call him the same thing. I cant see Johnny Evans greeting Evra at training everyday with "alright my negro".

Also, when Suarez claimed he went onto the football field like an over excited child (cant remember the exact words) is laughable. He blatantly cheated Ghana out of a goal at the world cup, then celebrated when the penalty was missed. And he bit somebody last season and was banned for a while. Oh the innocence of a child.


Now, I dont claim to know exactly what happened between Suarez and Evra or between Terry and Ferdinand, but when both accused parties are set to be charged, it doesnt look as though either are completely innocent.

As for Blatter, he is supposed to be the FIFA president. How does he think that racism is not an on field issue? The only thing he got right was that when fans are racially abusing players they need booting out. The Monkey chanting and the banana throwing has to be stopped. It's just shameful. But the frankly idiotic point that I could go and play football, racially abuse someone and then shake his hand afterwards and it would be fine is so far from the mark it's unreal.

They'll have plenty of cameras in the ground, maybe one of the ones not being used by Sky at that particular point picked up on it.

Talk about putting your foot in it btw, I think Poyet is/was probably one of the most liked and well respected guys in football as a player and now a manager. Surely keep your mouth shut until there is a conclusion to the case!

If he is found guilty, Poyet looks like a tool.

As far as I see it, racism should warrant a 4-6 ban if a player is found to be guilty of abuse. Nothing more. People who are calling for lifetime bans are absolutely idiotic - and I'm sure a lot of them are hypocrites too. As if they've never been racist before (whether jokingly or not).

The reason it should warrant a ban is because I'd imagine it being more offensive than an average insult. If I had a problem with being on the receiving end of racial abuse at a match, I'd want the player banned too. But a lifetime ban? Don't be absolutely ridiculous.

Agree a lifetime ban from the game may be over the top, but if the club is willing to keep the player on after if he's found guilty of racism, not sure that they can seriously partake in any more anti-racism programs, and they'll certainly get a lot of flack from fans/press/other clubs and they can't really moan about it. Possibly alienating current fans and stopping the growth of bringing in future fans. I'm sure the big clubs involved in these incidents have a large number of fans who will be offended by racism and if it's drummed into public perception by the media or by the constant references back to it that 'club x supports racism' then I certainly think it'll have an affect down the years when it comes to recruiting fans.

Make no mistake, if anyone back in the real world was found guilty of racism in the workplace they'd be sacked on the spot, no questions asked.

Sadly football isn't in the real world. Although like with the Marlon King thing (which for the record I thought was far worse than alleged racism) clubs don't give two *bleep*s and even if say Suarez was found guilty and evidence was released that proved him to be racially abusing Evra, and Liverpool did the honourable thing and released him, there'd be a thousand and one clubs offering him a contract, and he'd probably end up on better money out of it. Suppose you couldn't blame the club in that instance from protecting their investment. Unfortunetly they'll probably end up taking a lot of flack for it though, IF he's found guilty.

Meh, anyone using racist words of some sort in a mean way, I just feel sorry for the guy saying it. Saying this, I've never been met with racial abuse and I live in area with quite a significant amount of BNP members ._.

As for the Evra v Suarez stuff, I think Suarez was just being ignorant to what he was really saying. As for Terry, wouldn't surprise me that he said it, but i believe he would have just said it in a way you'd say 'you *bleep*ing gypsy *bleep*'

Blatter can leave though.
