It seems that after our slip out of the top four last season, Levy and Redknapp appear to be willing to put a lot of money into the pot to spend on some top draw players to try and battle with the ever-improving top sides. With quite a bit of money to spend on a top class forward, a goalkeeper to challenge the slightly impaired Gomes, a defender or two to bolster the injury prone backline as well as some prosperous new talent coming through such as Walker, Sandro and Caulker, we appear to be going in the right direction.

However, the flip side is that our heroics in the Champion's League last year has attracted other clubs to our star players, and despite van der Vaart, Bale and Modric all saying they'd like to stay, there are a lot of clubs with a lot of money willing to offer them big things - and that goes for our manager too. Really, this transfer window's arguably the biggest one since Redknapp took over as the repercussions of it could be interesting - we could finally challenge for the title, or slip back into midtable mediocrity.

I'm expecting a massive clearout of dead weight (Bentley, Hutton, Keane, O'Hara, Bentley again) and some players who never really had much of a chance to shine (Jenas, dos Santos). I'm also expecting a few big name players to come in (talks of bids for Falcao and rumours for Berbatov are very promising) and the usual player or two who seems pointless but could do a great job (Parker, Adam).

Modric allegedly refusing to confirm he'll be here...just saying he likes it, but if an offer is too good to refuse he'll go.

Seems like it's getting ever likelier, I thought West Brom or Liverpool were still interested so it's not a certainty yet.

yup, would like to see walker involved a lot more next season, hes done well at villa and qpr, the only problem is that defensively he doesnt look as good as corluka but offers more going forward, needs to work on his defensive side

naughton on the other hand im not too sure about, looks a decent player i dont think hes better than walker and neither is he as good as corluka, i reckon he will be sold, shame as hes looked pretty good this season too

at least now we have a back-up left back, danny rose is that man, looked solid in that position, forward and defensively, good to see him getting some games at the end of the season

but yeah its time to get rid of some players now and start bringing some in, bentley, keane, hutton, dos santos, ohara should be sold and its likely that bassong and kranjcar will leave (good players but never getting in the team, which is fair enough if they want first team football)

not sure who we can buy in terms of strikers though, be tough to get a top class striker in really

I reckon Walker's performances have prompted us to sell him and keep Naughton. That's how we usually do things. In all seriousness though, Walker looks great, but I do like Charlie, hopefully keep both.


I dont like the Modric stories because, just like Carrick and Berbatov, they were around for a year and the players said they were happy at Spurs but wanted more, so I wont be too shocked if he does go to United, I'll just be sickened. Again. United only ever seem to buy from foreign clubs or us these days, wankers.


Perhaps what we should do this summer is bring in a psychotherapist and teach the players a winning mentality so we stop ending up just outside the top 4. It's always just a few points and it's because we dont beat the sides at the bottom. Ach, we suck balls so often.
