Hmm, guess we'll have to disagree, I think they have the strongest squad atm baring a creative center mid. And they have been top most of the league most of the season.

See despite them being top .. I really disagree with this. I personally think Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and possibly Tottenham have better squads.

Individually .. I think Chelsea have the most 'world-class' players in their side. I don't really see that many in Man Utd's team. However, Man Utd's team just plays extremely well together so that's why they are where they are.

I'd definitely throw Cech, Essien & Cole in there.

Drogba, Torres. Who else?

Cech, Essien, Cole. Some would possibly even argue Terry & Lampard, and maybe Anelka. It's a matter of opinion as we all define the term 'world-class' differently.

Tbh on individual names and in terms of what a single player can produce at one time I think we have less of them than Arsenal, City & Spurs.

Arsenal have people like Nasri, Cesc, RVP, Wilshere, even Arshavin who can just provide that one moment of brilliance. City have Silva, Tevez, Balotelli and Spurs have VDV, Modric, Bale & maybe Lennon.

We only really have Berbatov, Rooney & Nani who in terms of scoring a goal do I think one of these 3 could pull something off at anytime, i.e. Berbatov v Liverpool, Rooney v City etc. Just other regular starters like Fletcher, Park, sometimes Hernandez just go about their roles in the team brilliantly, overall squad depth I think we have an edge over the others than individual brilliance.

Chelsea are more like us, rarely do something spectacular but most of the time their team just works together.

Man City easily have the most 'world class players' and easily the best squad in the league. I would say Chelsea probably second that with the addition of Torres.

So some Argentinian radio stations are reporting we're set to sign Pastore in the summer, and his agents in Manchester finalizing the deal.

Please. That would be brilliant. We badly need someone talented with the ball at his feet that will make things happen in midfield because we still rely on Scholes for that and he's 36 now. Scholes should be coming in making small key contributions at this stage, instead he's one of our main midfielders. Pastore would take off that reliance.

Admittedly I've barely seen him play but he gets glowing reports all over the place and is apparently one of the best creative midfielders in Serie A. Any player with a description like that is good enough for me.

O'Shea has always been a solid back up and is maybe even abit under rated on this forum, he seem to get a fair bit of stick, Brown and Evans have hardly been playing this season and you missed out Smalling and Rafael who've been playing alot more then those guys and have done well.

Besides you could take 3 defenders out of any squad it will look alot worse, they still have 3 of the best defenders in the world in Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra.

I agree, in fact our back up defence is decent enough. Smalling, Evans (should he get his form back because he's a good defender), O'Shea are good back-up. Players like Fabio and Brown are okay too. As was said, you can't just say 'take out your three best players in an area and you aren't that good'. That applies to almost every team.

If you want to sign Pastore you will have to pay mega money, Zamparini has already said himself many times that he rates him at over 40 million euros, and keep going up with every good performance he puts in.

He is still only quite young, i would not be so sure weather such a big move like this would be the best thing for him right now.
