Regarding Carroll's personality, just think that he's not a dick, but just a very young man, who's grown up in a city with a big culture of drinking and going out and being one of the lads so to speak, and in the middle of it it all went to his head a little bit, but to me he just seems a bit thick rather than a massive prick, very loyal, like I said, I just want to see him do well, I like seeing Michael Carrick do well too, there's not many top footballers from Newcastle.

Very interested to see how Liverpool get on with this new look side, will be watching them for once anyway.

I'm a bit curious what our line-up is going to be when both Suarez and Carroll are fit. Meireles out wide? I don't really fancy that. But just him and Gerrard in the middle doesn't work either. Maybe Suarez coming in from the left, which might be bit of a waste really.

Then again, when Maxi plays on the left he always comes inside and plays more centrally, a bit deeper sometimes too, so maybe Meireles will be alright in that role. Didn't like him on the right this season though. Would be a shame shifting him out of that centre midfield role, he's finally beginning to show his quality there lately, been our key player.

Lawrie Sanchez brought up a good point on SSN earlier today, saying it's a bit of a gamble buying Carroll for that amount of money when a big part of his game is getting on the end of crosses, because we don't have any good wingers lol. Glen and Kelly will have to play a big part in providing service i think, even more so than Dirk and whoever's on the left

Both sides of the argument can be true RE: Carroll. And I'm swaying towards Carroll's side of the argument out of blind loyalty to the man and hope that there is still loyalty on his behalf as I believed so strongly before.

We'll never know for sure who the liar is. But at the moment, it's another black mark against Ashley's reputation.

I'm sure Liverpool will bring in at least 1 decent winger come end of the season.

Well, we didn't sell Ben-Haim. Maybe that's the reason we sold Utaka to get his wages of our books so Stevie could have Tal?

We also didn't sell Brown or Hughes. I would be delighted if they could play on this season/sign new deals. Brown has been a big loss, and if we get those two players back it'll be like new signings.
