	The Bale fellating in this thread has reached ridiculous proportions. He scored 3 goals against a team who were completely switched off and just coasting at 4 goals up and had an extra man. Now all of a sudden he's worth £45 million? I'm not doubting he's a good player, but I'll be more impressed if he can score like that when it matters and the game isn't already effectively over.

Well said, people (including adrian chiles, southgate and desailly) will choose to forget it was against the tired legs of old men. Take nothing away from him but it was all just consolation, we could easily have lost six or seven nil. Two things lost us that game. One was Harrys defensive plan. It was clearly a "close down and prevent" instead of marking players out of the game, hence why everybody was drawn to the ball for the first and third goals. The other was assou-ekotto. Simply put, he is shit. Harry said in the summer we needed 3 players to challenge for the title, van der Vaart made it two, the others are clearly a left back and a real DM. I'm not overly disappointed, my opinion on this competition for us is that its six games to see how good we are, if we get out of the group, that will be great, but I wont cry if we dont. It has to be said tho, 10 men for 80 minutes against the european champions and only losing by one goal is pretty good. -------------------

	Yeah I'd guess it would be about Villa and Fergie has always maintained that money has been available for him to spend. People forget United didn't exactly spend nothing this summer, Fergie has bought in players who he can see potential in and like he says he is the master at it. And yeah he must be used to it by now, Robson, Cantona, Beckham, Keane.. all the players United have supposed to fallen apart without an endless list. Fergie just does shit like this and builds up a siege mentality at the club time and again. I guess the irony is that Rooney is (apparently, although I don't really believe his press statement) getting annoyed with Fergie's policies even though he was bought on the back of his potential and an established player, back then, wanted him out and didn't think he would ever be good enough a few years back.

	I'd say it was Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Keane wasn't happy with Fletcher,Richardson and a few others. But it was RVN who apparently had numerous training ground bust ups with Ronaldo.

I agree, the way the game played itself left the majority of Rangers fans with a bitterweet taste in their mouths simply because had we taken our numerous chances Valencia would've been on the wrong end of a heavy defeat. Still it was a great night, great atmosphere and fantastic performance from our team. Couldn't ask more from them because we gave it a real go last night. Someone really needs to teach Rangers how to not panic and how to put the ball into an open net. Last night I was begining to think they couldn't score for toffee. There ball controll was just totally useless at times.
