According to The People, Sir Alex Ferguson has been given the green light to sign Wesley Sneijder for £20 mil. I know it's paper talk, but £20 mil for Sneijder? Be realistic. He was a key figure in Inter's treble win, and I'm sure Benitez would love to keep him in the team next year. He's a great playmaker.

He's improved a lot since he left Man Utd I think.
I don't think he's changed much at all, he'd still be choice no.3 at United Pique's improved so much since leaving Man Utd. He's the type of defender who suits the Spanish league more. Very strong player with a good head, and good reading of the game. Can ping the ball across the pitch aswell.

I just think you're selling Pique a bit short, and I personally think he'd challenge Vidic & Rio for a place in the first team. However, we all have our different views.

Why would you want Joe Cole AND David Silva? Both play in the same position so they'd be no point getting both.

From what I've seen of David Silva, he isn't over rated. He's a superb player, but I wouldn't say left wing is necessarily what you need to buy for at the moment.
That Pastore player, I've heard of him. Been linked I think, but never seen him play. They rejected a £22 mil bid for him, so he must be a great player for Palermo. They could get massive money by just selling Pastore and Kjaer.

They're determined not to pay over the odds for Fabregas either. Yet both Torres & Fabregas won't leave their clubs for less then £50 mil.

They aren't paying over the odds though. Both players are extremely important to their clubs, both young, still not at their prime and would help Barca dominate football for some time yet. Plus, nowadays players can be worth it, in terms of how much money a player can actually make the club in merchandise etc. Both players are worth far more than Barca are apparently willing to pay.
I know they're not paying over the odds, but that's what they've said. I agree that it'd cost them more money then they'd want for the players, and that's exactly why they won't get either those 2 until they're willing to pay what Liverpool & Arsenal want.

Just read on SSN that the Serbian striker Liverpool are signing Jovanovic (?) "could pull out of the move".
I saw this earlier on too, hope it doesn't materialise though, from what I've seen he looks a decent player who would be squad player. I'm quite sure he's free though and he's played in the Champions League before. So if I was Liverpool, I'd take what I can get because I doubt they'll be able to spend all the money they receive from transfers.

No-one did, but why don't you want a Champions League experienced player at your team even if he is a squad player?

He meant that he hopes Jovanovic PULLING OUT of the deal doesn't materialise I think. Way I read it was that he didn't want the whole move to materialise. If he meant the way you're thinking, then my bad.
Oh, and I really can't see David Silva going to Man City. I'm sure he has already rejected them before? All these reports from David Silva including ones I've posted aren't really from reliable sources. It seems more like paper talk. Anyways if these sources were to be believed, then he only seems to want to move to the Premiership if Chelsea come calling.

David Silva to Man City. Really want to see how much the guy is on, I'm going to wager a guess at 140k a week!

re: Transfers & Rumours

I personally didn't see it happening, but these things do sometimes happen. He wouldn't have been on 140k a week at Chelsea, and I can prove that to because if we were going to offer David Silva 140k a week, we would've probably gave into Joe Cole's wage demands. Plus IF you read my post, you'd also see that I said most reports were from unreliable sources and that if they were to be believed, then he would've preferred Chelsea.
Oh, and I knew that once I had posted then saw you had replied next that it would be to pick on a post.Edit: Jun 24, 10

I wouldn't be like that, RJ. You've got much better players and perform better than him. He had to fill Essien's position due to Essien's injury, and he was a great performer in our season. I am disappointed to see him leave but he was getting on and wanted ridiculous wages.

re: Transfers & Rumours

He was on about 130k a week. No joke. We should've never given him those type of wages, but I think it's because we were trying to make a point in signing him and offering him the wages would tempt him more. He wanted a 2 year deal, but we was offering a 1 year deal which I think he didn't want so we released him.
LGIG, how on earth aren't we doing enough? They maybe good players, but neither of them warranted the wages they wanted, especially Joe Cole for that matter. If he wants 120k a week, and we offer 70k then he's going to reject it. We pulled out of contract talks due to the massive wages demands.
I can't see it coming back to haunt us. We've got a youngster in Nemanja Matic on the fringes of first team, and then we're most likely to have Michael Essien back. While Joe Cole didn't play that much in the season. He was injured for a lot, and when he did come he was inconsistent. Anyways, we've always got the transfer window to come.
I was disappointed both left, but neither of them warranted the wages they wanted at the end of the day.

re: Transfers & Rumours

Matic is still very young, and won't be first team. He's only on the fringes, but I can see him being used as a sub next season quite a bit whilst featuring in FA/League Cup games. Well I hope we give youngsters more games next season. He's got potential though, so we'll just have to see.
And you have a very valid point about Essien. However, if we can get him fit soon then he can train throughout the summer. Get eased back into the team during pre-season then see how he does. Hope he's back in time for the season. As 'rusty' as he may be, if he gets back to form then we'll be sorted in midfield.
