Veron lasted two seasons. I do think it's a similar case though in that a big money signing hasn't worked out and think it would be best to recoup as much as possible and bring in another striker.

It took Drogba his 3rd season at Chelsea to look good. The previous two seasons he was total gobshite and missed sitters for fun.

I think its much more likely that Davies will be starting ahead of Elmander next season.

In an ideal world neither would be nailed on to be starting every game. I can't see Elmander being a first teamer next season though.

4-1 now and the race for 4th spot is now a 2 dog race.

Sturridge-S.Fletcher to lead the line next season would be quite good for Bolton.

Chances of Sturridge going out on loan are pretty high imo, IF we get one of our top targets, which should be a striker.

if sturridge can go out on loan i expect robbie and eddie to be on the blower straight away and bring him down to the hawthorns

I can. The manager rates him. And he's been one of our better performers since Moses came in.


If one of our current strikers will be dropped next season, I'm hazarding a guess it's less likely to be Elmo.

Elmander is still being subbed pretty much every game by Coyle which to me suggests he has Davies at #1 and Elmander #2

As decent as Elmander has been in the build up play he is still nowhere near good enough to be playing for a Premier League team week in week out. Rarely scores, runs with the ball like he has a thousand men behind him tugging him back- he seems to be so reluctant to run forward with it. The only thing he is good for is the neat little passing round the area which sometimes opens up space for others to score goals- whilst Davies is becoming less effective, he is still a great outball and still wins a fair share of freekicks and is still comfortably top of our assists league- as he is every season.

Elmander just doesn't bring enough to the team. If anyone comes in for him in the summer I'd sell him. I don't really think Coyle rates him that highly, I just think he rates him more than the rest of the options we have.
