I personally don't think the it'd matter, having less games to play. Being out of the Champion League may spark a reaction and desire to win the Premier League. But with Chelsea, you never really witness a reaction from them.

I aint even going to start on the penalty argument again, as i'm still 50-50, I've seen them given very often (not just for United), sometimes they don't. On top of that we definately deserved to win, played better football and Liverpool just lacked something different.

Thought Vidic was chuffing brilliant all game, as was Evra, Neville and Park. Funny thing is our two best players Rooney and Valencia played pretty average for their usual performances, Valencia didn't take advantage of Insua enough for my liking.

Great win in the end, bring on Bolton.

He needs to be at a club where the manager wants someone creative on the pitch.

Not with Liverpool. He needs to be playing deep to dictate play, not playing ahead of Gerrard rarely seeing the ball.

So you say that, what do you think of his performance against Pompey? The only real game he has started and played throughout. He never had a chance to get into the game so I think your judgment is harsh. He's not even had more then a few proper games (where you actually play the whole game) so he can't be so harshly criticised.

On the game, pathetic. United showed true desire and deserved it. When you see players like Fletcher and Rooney constantly running to get the ball, keep it in play and spearhead the attacks and then compare it to people like Gerrard, Johnson and Kuyt, you can't help but be angry. Gerrard has lost it for us. He says how he has the desire and that, but I've yet to see it for a long, long time. Time to move him on and cash in whilst we can.

We really need some bottle to just take a risk and go for it. For too long now have we delayed on the ball. I think the player's have a fear of failure (yes that sounds obvious), and are so afraid to try anything with risk in it. This means we back off too much, and when you back off against United, you will be punished.

Well done to United and in particular Rooney, total class.

Whilst I think it's unfair to judge Aquilani so harshly, I agree with De Niro about Benitez. The man is woeful in the transfer market.

I can't think of any players he's signed that have been really good that weren't already known by everyone to be good (Torres), or from his old club (Reina). He doesn't seem to have much knowledge of the market at all. Probably only signed Johnson because of the hype in England about him, and probably only signed Kuyt because other big clubs had been linked and he had a good goal record in the Dutch league.

Reina wasn't at his old club. Just saying like.
