Growing up i always watched Football Italia on Channel 5 or was it 4? and became a big fan of Fiorentina. Gabriel Batistuta everytime. BatiGol!
Also loved watching Zidane and Ronaldo. Simply superb players. As a Bolton fan- Kevin Davies. 100% everygame. Legend. As an England fan- Michael Owen. WC 1998 was the first tournement that i really watched and can remember moment by moment. Pretty much explains why i'm a massive Owen fan. ------------------- ![]() credit: BurnleyIsMe

quote jimbo_bwfcIt was Channel 4 then it changed to 5 after a few years. I also used to watch it loads back then and 1 player who I admired back then was Alessandro Del Piero, he was class, as well as George Weah. My favourite player to have played in the EPL while growing up was Eric Cantona

As a Spurs fan it's got to be Jermaine Jenas- top midfielder, comes across as a really nice guy in interviews and seems to love playing for us.
In world football I always find myself rooting for Quaresma. I think he's been under-used since his Inter move, especially at Chelsea where he looked effective when he actually played. When I was younger I loved Luis Enrique of Barcelona- a proper midfielder. Xavi's up there for the same reasons. ------------------- ![]() I'm so Rock 'n' Roll that I'm on Fire.

Used to be a massive fan of Roy Keane, Dennis Irwin and Paul McGrath. Absolute legends of their trade.
Nowadays my favourite players would be Nemanja Vidic and, hard to admit as a United fan, Fernando Torres, amazing professional and a top class footballer ------------------- ![]()

My favourite player ever is probably Paul Scholes. Really top-class, as good as any midfielder to play in the Premiership. Roy Keane I've never seen anyone with more desire to win than him.
Dwight Yorke always played with a smile on his face. Was cool under pressure and a class finisher. His partnership with Cole was one of the best. Theirry Henry, so graceful at full speed. His best 10 Arsenal goals are some of the best I've ever seen. Also Andy Reid, plays the banjo, Wayne Rooney, great determination and skill, Andres Iniesta, fantastic all-rounder and Andrey Arshavin, makes the game look so effortless, written off for being too old coming to Arsenal but has proved doubters wrong. ------------------- Is maith liom Gaeilge.

Henrik Larsson could do it all. he had strength, pace, agility, quality finishing, brilliant link up play, and was a threat in the air too. he was an all round striker.
scott brown is great to have in your team as he is a wee ****** and thrives on being hated, luckily hated for him, he is hated. the more he is abused, the better and more aggressive he gets. i like his way of getting riped in to a game. roy Keane was kinda the same as broonie but i just enjoyed his battles he had with big frenchman and italians, against a lad from ireland. John Oshea for his ability to play anywhere Zidane was instictivly class, he knew what to do all the time with unbelievable composure. Guti - could read the game seconds before others. ------------------- quote CFCjamieM

I can't really give a definite one. Cristiano Ronaldo is the most talented player I've ever seen. Scholes makes the game look so easy and even at 35 he's still the most technically gifted player England has to offer. Frank Lampard is another one I admire for his consistency after so many years. I think Rivaldo's the finest player of the modern era, Zidane had the moments of skill and the big game performances, certainly the greatest player in terms of achievement and accolades, but for me Rivaldo had the consistency from week to week that Zidane just lacked. Michael Laudrup trounces them both though, definitely the finest player I've ever seen.
