Red Bull Franchise

What do people make of this, I just seen they have bought the licence of a lower league team in Leipzig and their aim is to win the Bundesliga within 10 years.

I was then looking at the Red Bull Arena in New York, which NY Red Bulls they will be moving into is the carbon copy of the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg.

Its not hard to imagine that somehow in 20 years time the Champions League final really could take place between two corporations, Red Bull London vs Pepsi Cola Madrid.

It's an interesting subject. I don't particularly like what Red Bull are doing, how can fans feel part of their club when they are sharing their badge and even stadium with numerous other teams?

There's nothing wrong with them buying a club, if they want to buy a football club then they're allowed to do so, if anything it's good as people are going to be attracted to the team and people will watch them. Obviously, if they went over the top, like Man City and were out of order to other clubs then people would be against it. It's a good investment.

Oh and, they're called Red Bull Salzburg for a reason.

Cambiasso, the club changed names several times and was disbanded once before according to Wikipedia.

No, i'd welcome the money, although i'd prefer it if we kept our name. That's all. Obviously, i'd be against them changing the name, anyone who supported a club would but if it's needed to progress then i'd let it be and keep our history.

its grand now yeah, Red Bull have one Franchise in Europe top tier and that team is not in one of the bigger leagues but I just find something wrong is there was like a Red Bull franchise popping up in every league around Europe and we got the situation of Red Bull Salzburg vs Red Bull Dublin in Champions League or somethin like that.

The MetroStars were only formed in 1996.

What history? They only thing they won was a friendly tournament.

So the fans should have no problem with Red Bull completely rebranding the club and having no respect for them and their wishes at all, but focus all their hate on the old board for selling? Can't believe a supporter of a smaller club can come out with such ignorant garbage.
