New Mills went down 4-1 to a decent Glossop side in a local derby in the FA Vase.

The result flatters us. We were poor, played with no passion, determination, grit or desire. We finally start playing well with a good balance and good formation and win 6-0 then the manager brings in at least 5 new players and changes the tactics and we get hammered.

Just as an update to the above, he's on a two month course of tablets to control his red and white blood cell count and reduce the size of his spleen. If he reacts to them well then he could be back playing before the end of the season.

Our season has certainly been action packed so far. Pre-season optimism was blown away by 5 points from our first 7 games when we were 21st in the table in mid september. Since then we have gone 17 games unbeaten, 14 wins and 3 draws. We're currently third with games in hand on most teams around us. Things looking positive for the rest of the season, still in all four competitions and in the 3rd round draw tomorrow. But the priority is the league and making sure that Toddy will be lifting the trophy come May.

Now that Burton have the BSP sewn up, the playoffs look the only chance of us getting promoted. I hope to go one further than last season, and get to the play off final at least! Hopefully win it aswell.

Still, that's 9 games unbeaten now, and we're well clear of the relegation zone with only 7 games left...
