Yet the debt has increased every single year despite the record profits. That doesn't look like Manchester United are in a good position to pay off the debt.

It was great timing on the Glazer's part when they released the record profit figures, it was in February when the the title race was getting a little bit anxious and United fans would be pleased with this 'good news'.

What went unnoticed was when they released the figures for the interest payments which were actually higher than the record profits. When did they release these? Im sure you already know this and are fully aware, but for those who don't, they were released around the time of the 2nd leg of the Champions League semi final against Barcelona where the attention of the fans was firmly on the result of the match vs Barcelona, leaving these slightly more worrying figures go largely unnoticed.

How can you say what use is income? The higher the income, the more you can pay off of the debt each month/year.

But that's the thing, technically how can any of it all be called a profit if your still in debt?

Operationally, it's a profit, but when you have to pay off debt, it isn't a profit at all.

Like I give a shit if I'm annoying you, I'd be annoyed if I couldn't understand English also. Wenger said that he 'may have to sell their best players'. Now, the best players demand the best wages. For example, Adebayor wants a huge pay rise, which Arsenal cannot afford. Other clubs can. Therefore, he may have to sell Adebayor because of the wage issue. However, he isn't going to come out and vilify Adebayor now is he? No. So what would he do instead. He'd claim that the money would benefit the club, and make it seem as if he had to sell them.

Wenger is a man of principles, and he wouldn't let them be sacrificed by openly complaining about it.

Inter open negotiations with Chelsea for Lampard

Inter Milan have apparently contacted Chelsea with a view to signing Frank Lampard. He'll be a big loss for Chelsea in my opinion if he does leave, especially the number of goals he scores regularly each season.
