Yeah I've never understood that. Loads of smaller forums I've been on have got a poll feature, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to install such a feature here.

We wouldn't really want a poll for this though, as that limits your choice of players.

I don't know, I think a top 10 is good.

I was thinking you could have people submit a form, with numbers 1-10, and they put whoever they want in each rank.

Then, say Zidane is first in someone's list, you give him 10 points, 9 points for whoever's second, 8 for third, and so on.
Then show us the results, listing all the players voted for and how many points they have, then we'd end up with a much longer list, and it would be more interesting. You can see who just missed out and so on.

I see what you mean, good idea. I was originally going to go with The Eclipse's layout, have a thread for nominations only, each member getting to nominate three players but no duplicate nominations. In other words, if I nominated Zidane, Keane and Vieira, nobody else could nominate them. Then there was a thread for each player in the top 10.

I can see the benefits of your thinking though as it would probably generate more interest.

He means we've actually seen their matches and not just youtube videos I believe - whether it be live at the ground or just on the TV.

Well why don't you have a top ten list for the 60's; 70's; 80's' 90's & 00's ?

That's a very good idea but no doubt once we'd get to a certain decade, the 80s I'm guessing, it will inevitably descend into the same thing that happened with The Eclipse's attempt. There's also the whole thing about interest in it and I think if we did it by decade, and having a top ten for each decade, interest would inevitably fade.

Can we have a category in the forum awards for "most irritating member" or "member you want to permaban"

Is it just me or is there more spam here than usual?

In the group C thread you need to sift through shit to find a decent post. I'm not just talking about Mike Harveys insults or pointless arguments about racism but also the comments where people say 'great goal' or 'he was so close' and that is all in their post. Normally i don't care but the large amount of spam pissed me off.

Yep it seems like their is, would like to tell people that I don't want to see them constantly posting things like you say.

For example, don't just say 3 lines like "that was close" as although it is adding to the discussion it really is pointless and if we are watching then we will already know.

Also if an argument kicks off then I'd like to remind you all that all you need to do is report it and leave it at that, no need to carry it on and spam even more.
