Yes it would be hard to keep it going with just players but already I can think of loads.

Might be better being expanded to include Club names or indeed anything football related.

Is this going to be like a league, with a leaderboard updated after each round or will it be less formal than that?

If it's not a league then I can help start things off with a few players or club names, but if it is a league then I won't because I want to play!

There's a difference between discussing and arguing.

Well a forum is to discuss things on but it isn't for constant arguing/bickering, you can only be warned so many times until you're punished.

Anyway if you don't agree with PPD restrictions then take it to the admins because it is nothing to do with me.

Regarding discussion and argument, more often than not they turn into arguments on this forum although I've noticed a lot less quote wars lately. I don't know if that's because there's no home nations at the euros though...

I think it coincides with the end of the club football season IG and your point about there being no home nations at the Euros.

The qoute wars usually happen after two rivals play eachother and there are controversial incidents in the match. Supporters from each team then staunchly defend their own players.

I was browsing old threads in the forum and came across this thread. I was thinking of starting up a similar vote after the Euros sometime?

From reading the threads though a big issue was people asking how you can vote for, say, Pele if you've never seen him play? I was thinking to eliminate this aspect of it to maybe have a cut-off point on how far back you can go. Obviously there are older members here on Neo so I was thinking that any player that played from 1990 could be nominated? It's just an idea and any feedback or suggestions are welcome.

Yeah I like that idea. People will actually have to think for themselves instead of repeating the same old Maradona, Pele, Zico, Beckenbauer etc. that they never actually saw play, and couldn't tell you much about.

That's what I was thinking. Obviously Maradona kept going for a while but we all know his prime was before 1990 so I thought I'd put that as the cut-off point. I mean the options since then are still quality, with the likes of Gazza, Zidane, Keane, Vieira, Haji, Stoichkov etc.
