Has there been a second thread to that ? Should be indexed too. Took far too long to find it.

re: Forum Feedback & Suggestions

There was a thread called "Away Days" which was basically the same thing, so it progressed onto there but was never linked to from the original thread, it seems.

The Away Days one is in the index.

Ah, alright - thanks. I think the one I linked should be indexed too just for reference sake.

Back to Stoke now, cheers.
Bit hard when the thread gets closed? Was this intentional in the sense that you meant get back to discussing Stoke in the Championship thread?

Also, unsure on why the 'KK: Has he turned round the TOON ARMY?' thread was closed. You linked to the Premiership thread in a way of saying 'take the discussion here', but why is it unacceptable to have a thread discussing what's going on at Newcastle now? We have the "Is Arsenal's Season Now Over?" thread, and OK, the title of the thread is a bit stupid but it has the basis of a good topic, discussing Newcastle's back-to-back wins and whether they've really turned a corner or not. A further explanation as to why it was closed would be appreciated, cheers.

If this sounds a bit too critical, I'd like to stress that it's not a personal attack on Jackmh who I think is a model poster in the Football (Soccer) forum, someone we need here, and a good moderator, I was just puzzled by these two issues slightly.

re: Forum Feedback & Suggestions

The reason it says, 'back to Stoke' and then the thread was closed was that it was kept open beyond that post. However, some members decided to continue to post off-topic remarks therefore they were deleted, and the thread closed since it was obviously not heading in a positive direction, so that is why my post looks out of place there. Really, the same topic could be discussed [sensibly] about Stoke or any of the Championship leaders in the Coca Cola Leagues thread.

In the Newcastle season thread, it was in a similar situation with many posts straying off the topic. The posts in the Arsenal thread have been overall decent with some good discussion, but the Newcastle thread was heading towards a discussion about tickets which hadn't really got anywhere in 3 pages.

re: Forum Feedback & Suggestions

Why is there a Football IRC link when there's barely anyone in there bar me, Lewis and Shinra? I rarely going in there in fact so it can hardly be bustling. Maybe a little more advertising could be done for it as it has the potential to be quite good (as long as the idiots don't spam it up) as the FM became after a while. Sadly, I think that has died down aswell.

Also, is supporting MK Dons a bannable offence because a boy called Madmandude is doing it and I'm getting annoyed.

re: Forum Feedback & Suggestions

This is something i've been thinking about for quite a while and i think i've finally got it all together. It's in the form of a competition, which would be called Call yourself a football fan?.

The concept in short would be for people to sign up , once a certain number is reached, leagues/groups would be divised and then fixtures ect. The matches would take place in the IRC to help promote the thing and for simple, easy access.

People, will come into the IRC and then when both are in ,the matches will start. For each question the participants would have to "X" in and then say the anwser. Each questions holds a 1 Minute time-limit to make it quick. Similar to the NFFQ that OOTER ran earlier this year.

It would be a simple , first to 5. The questions will range from questions which would involve not just player, leagues and clubs but also officials , competitions and other guessing questions.

To make it seem simple, below is what it would look like in limbo.

quote
Bob: I'm ready
Steve: I'm ready aswell
Host: Okay, Question 1. To the nearest 3, how long is it since Southend last drew 0-0?
Bob: X
Host: Bob, do you know the awnser?
Bob: 60?
Host: Correct, 1-0 to Bob. Southend haven't drawn in 63 games.
And so forth.

Thoughts? Preferably from the mods.

re: Forum Feedback & Suggestions

Well like you said it is basically a mirror image of what we had before with OOTERS NFFQ, although it is a good idea I have one or two doubts about your rules.

Having 1 minute to answer the question would be a bit long seeing as that is enough time to get Google up search, find and tell you the answer... Around 15 seconds would be better to be honest.

Another doubt is the fact that most of the things I've seen you run have never reached the end, well most have never even got to the halfway point.. Could you guarantee it would be completed

Overall I think it is a good idea and would be willing to consider it, I would say though that you are given a choice of doing it via MSN or the IRC, whichever is easiest for the competitors.

Hopefully the rest of the forum will roll in with some views/opinions on this..

Yeah kinda the same as what Sam said. Basically another Forum Quiz like the one Ooter did, and although its a good idea and such, you don't have the best track record with competitions PG.

I do Shamefully, agree. So i'll think about it over the next weeks and see if i will have the time and dedication to and, write lots of questions for when i decided so that i could carry it out. Becuse atm it's probably best i don't do as i have Work Experience soon, so i'll wait to finish that.

Just a quite thing I'd like to get across to a few of you.. Can people stop replying to messages with smiley faces and nothing of which actually contributes to the discussion, it gets rather annoying seeing it after a while.
