I believe so, but don't quote me on it. I'm pretty unreliable with PS3 info. Look it up.

The PS3 can play PS2 disks to my knowledge.

The 40 Gb model has no backwards compatibility. The 80 and 60 Gb models have bc, but only the Japan and US 60 Gb models have full backwards compatibility. Sony cut it off the later models because they feel it won't sell consoles. So, if you have a US, or JP 60 Gb PS3, you can play Manhunt 2. Other regions, get a PS2. The EU 60 Gb model can play about 90% of PS2 games, but MH2, and, the original Manhunt are in the 10 % of games that don't work here.

Edit: It seems now that Sony MIGHT make the 40 Gb PS3 backwards compatible by software emulation, as well, through a firmware update.
