	If you mean, who was terrible then became a lot better? I'd say Neville. First few years, everyone always abused him. This book he performed a lot of spells much to his lack of knowledge. -------------------

	My belief is that it was Dudley. DD stated several times that love was the best magic there was. Harry stated that Dudley's behavior when the Dursley's left was like him saying "I love you". Perhaps it is a stretch, but it is a more parsimonious theory than to suggest that suddenly Neville was able to do magic. He was a wizard, of course he could do magic before, even if he was not very good at it.

	I think it was Neville as he hardly really performed magic, and now later in the story he performs magic amazingly and without fear. -------------------

	I think that clue was edited out by the time the book was released. Mrs. Weasley and Neville had both performed magic before, and saying Dudley did is a stretch.

	Honestly, this is one of the questions I was really looking forward to see answered, and felt somewhat disappointed. I was actually vouching for Aunt Petunia, and hoped that the Dursleys would be back at some point (under rather desperate circumstances) and she'd save the day. I thought that was hinted at on Dudley's "love you-like" farewall, and in Aunt Petunia's hesitation, but then, they just vanished and that was it... Not a big deal, though. I do wonder if JKR will give us the "official" reply about what she meant by that.

	My guess goes to Aunt Petunia who did have magic in her blood from her sister Lily. Ms. Figg (the Squib) and Dudley are also logical theories. ------------------- _unwind...

	I thought it was going to be Mr. Filch. They talked about Mrs. Norris his cat during the battle but didn't mention him except that he was going to lead a group of children. Maybe they edited it out.
