i got a slight problem with the weapons i am given by that girl at the high altar after completing the 3 arcane labryinths, so far i have 2 spears: Longinus and Abel's lance and i cant equip them! do i have to be at the maximum skill level for that weapon to use these weapons or is there another use for them?

Yeah, each of the Arcane Labyrinth weapons are character specific.
