Racing modifications - which cars? - Page 6

I saw a whole load of modded Golfs yesterday around Warwick including an R32 with an extreme amount of negative camber doing 60 on the M40, presumably because the fecked up suspension made it undrivable at anything higher.

All balanced out though by the best personalised number plate/car combo I have seen. A gun metallic Nissan Gt-R with the plate D47SUN

Got to agree with you on that, the Euro VW scene is spreading like wildfire up in the north.

Full of idiots who think it's good to whack Porcshe rims on VW's and Lambo rims on Audi's, drop the car so the arches are touching the tyres and the bumpers scraping the road and then as you mention have extreme negative camber which, considering most of the VW's that get this treatment are FWD, they are never gunna be used for drifting or serious track racing therefore making the camber pointless, it looks shite and it's only gunna create uneven tyre wear. I know I have serious neggy camber on my drifting RX-7 on GT5 like Pauliepoos pointed out, but that's simply for the sake of better control while drifting even though it doesn't look brilliant.

I've never seen it done to a R32 Golf though, only the old Mk 1's, 2's and 3's. Why on earth ruin a perfectly good track day hot hatch such as the R32 like that though, I just don't get it

Don't mind the Euro scene on dubs tbh, just think it's getting a bit generic seeing people buying VW's, lowering them and throwing some banded steelies on and thinking they're scene.

Similar to people who buy a Jap car purely so they can spam JDM everywhere.

I admit some of the Euro VW's do look nice, IF they don't have silly stretch tyres on or bonnet bras and are done properly.



That ain't too bad I think apart from the stretch tyres, still not too sure on the rims. But atleast the fabrication on the bodywork shows quality workmanship and a professional fit.

I would love to go to one of these car collection meets and get a chance to see some real gorgeous metal. The was one in England not so long ago and it had the Veyron there and the legendary XJR-9 Group C Le Mans Race Car that won the 1988 World Series Le Mans and the 24 Hour of Le Man. Would of been a brilliant day out for car lovers alike

Not sure about England but here in Melbourne they just meet at big car lots on the weekends and anyone can go to them to check it out, seen some really beautiful and some really weird cars there haha
