You're thinking of fiscal year, Gregm, that starts around March. You'd be correct if they'd said Q4 fiscal year 09.

I believe my original prediction of December 8th 2009 [US] and December 11th 2009 [EU] will be accurate. It also makes sense as releasing the biggest racing franchise of all time before Christmas is a goldmine. The PS3 is flying off shelves already thanks to this price cut what will happen when the racer everyone wants comes out. I personally think only 30% of GT fans own a PS3 currently, if I am correct about that then well done Sony you better ship about 6 million PS3's ready for Christmas.

^ I'd say an even higher percentage have PS3s. I think the Gran Turismo demographic is very similar to the PS3 demographic. That is, they like the raw power and more sophisticated and realistic games, and they have the money to spend on a console to meet those needs. Suffice to say, I'd predict that not a lot of GT fans are also Nintendo fans.

Like Coi Cki said, nah, it's totally the actual last quarter of the year. It's one of the few commonly used methods that's actually universal. Usually they'll give it in seasons, which isn't universal at all, as you don't know who published it and what hemisphere they're in.

On Play.com it's says it'll be out for December 4th, but play.com changes quite a lot so I'm not sure how reliable that is.

Why Nintendo? They could own an Xbox 360 to get their fix of Forza until the game they really want comes out. They may still just keep battling on with a PS2. Infact I think many GT fans are still PS2 owners waiting for the game to come out to upgrade.

I do think that this game may encourage people to get a PS3. One of my friend is thinking about getting a PS3 just for GT5, and the internet browser as well.

There are many people with that same thought. Not all of them for Gran Turismo 5 i'll admit but then you have the Uncharted series, God of War 3 and Ratchet and Clank series that all lure people in. There are lots of reasons to buy a PS3 now at it's shockingly low price.

Why Nintendo? You realize I said GT fans don't have Nintendos, right? They're completely different tastes! Polar opposites!
